Monday..UGHNot exactly ready for it but Monday's always seem to come around quickly..ready or not. Nice weekend with the boys. They spent the whole weekend playing. Several playmates in the neighborhood kept them busy. I did manage a little alone time with each of them. Out to dinner with Reece on Saturday night while Connor was spending the night at a friends. Shopping with Connor yesterday while Reece was playing at a neighbors house. They were each pretty happy about some time alone with Mom. I need to make sure that happens a little more often. Ex made a statement about that last night. He is a little resentful about my living situation with the kids. He has commented a few times about him having to do all of the "entertaining" when they are with him because there are no kids to play with where he lives. I guess he thinks I have it easy. I wanted to tell him that I never told him to move to a basement in the middle of nowhere but let it go. He also mentioned our upcoming vacation. Told me that he is not going anywhere this summer. Hope he wasn't expecting an invite.I think he should be happy that his kids live in a safe neighborhood with lots of other kids to play with AND that they are going to the beach. Which they love. I love it too. Can't wait to pack my beach bag!!I'm getting past the point of being glad about his miserable moments. Freedom doesn't seem to be sitting well with him. I don't think he really knows what to do with it. Spent a lot of time talking with the new guy this weekend. Feeling more and more confident that this is someone worth taking that leap for. I am going to have to try HARD not to let myself get totally swept away. For a while anyway. I had a patient that had married later in life. late 60's. My first visit he and his wife were telling me about how they met. About thier first dates. Showed me wedding and honeymoon pictures. They sounded the exact same way that a younger couple would have sounded . I still visit his wife (he died a few months ago). They had both been through marriage before. Unhappy marriages. She swears that falling in love is falling in love..no matter how old you are. Better even.. because you appreciate it more. Encouraging words.

I take it this new guy moves you in a way that Flower Guy didn\'t? I came unto the site as you were dumping Flower guy so I didn\'t get to follow that story, LOL. You have the right attitude, so just go with it. Wish you luck. I\'m still waiting for my STBX to have miserable moments, BTW. Wow, guess I am about a year behind you. Enjoy :)
Very encouraging words. I guess she\'s right, falling in love is falling in love.
Good to hear your willing to take a chance with this new guy. Like you said, take it slow and make sure it\'s right for you. Your in no hurry.

Love the story about the older couple. When I have seen older couples in the past I have always assumed they had been together for like 50 years or something.
Need to get more of that alone time with each of my kids too. I manage to get a little in before they go to sleep. And sometimes my daughter will just come in the room when I am writing bills or making dinner and just hang out.
They were with mom all weekend and I don\'t think they really got any alone time with her new guy around, actually they were at his place. I always pictured her just taking the 2 of them out for fun things. Not just spending money on them.
Falling in love is falling in love no matter how old you are (My friend\'s dad and step mom showed me that last week when I met them). I am glad too to hear you are willing to take a chance with someone. Work it for you, you\'ll know when it\'s right.
Also... don\'t let the ex interfere with your vacation plans.
My beach trip is planned middle of July - I booked it in January and stbx is NOT invited but my new friend is :-)
HUGS MY FRIEND>

Good luck with the new man. It sounds wonderful to be taking a leap - it implies excitment, moving forward, motion, energy. Fantastic thought.
