I think this is going to be a busy night on the journal..Ex just brought the kids home. Tried to bolt but I stopped him. Asked him if he doesn't think I have the right to be mad about what he did. Told him not to ever involve the kids with anything like that again. He rolled his eyes and said.." I know Cher..we can't all be perfect like you"..Thats what he always says. No matter what he does or how bad it is..thats how he turns it around. Not everyone can be perfect like me. I'm going to tell him to stop calling me Cher. Bugs me. I'm too perfect. That has been his big gripe against me. I assume that he means that I THINK I am perfect. I don't. Nobody is perfect. That said..if imperfection is what he is after then I think he picked the right girl. She is seriously flawed..inside and out. Too perfect....if I hear that again I will want to hit him..but I won't. Perfect people don't hit.Tonight really upset me. There is a reason for that and he, of all people, should know it. I'm going outside to play. maybe jump on the neigbors trampoline. I can do flips. Not perfect flips. Just flips.

Oh my. You had me angry, sad and then, darn it, laughing at your last statement. That is so you. Humor always mixed in regardless. He wants you to step down to his level so he won\'t feel like a scumbag. He wants you to scream, yell, get mad, etc (like I do with, correct, that use to do with STBX). He wants to justify his actions. Remember, You were the 1st one on here to tell me that. To stop reacting, I am giving him reasons to beleive he is justified. That was your first advice to me. Now, girl, gotta give it back to you. Good thing though, I am listening to you and you do give great advice. Now keep being goofy. I look up to for that. One day, I will find humor too. Keep it up. I am trying so hard not to laugh because seriously, everything else is so arghhh.
Do a flip for me!
me too :)
I take a slight offense to RandyC comment. My husband let my daughter take tons of risks, rock climbing, swimming in the ocean at young age, teaching her gun safety and guns in general so she wouldn\'t be scared or curious (his words)-lots of risks I was scared of. Scared of her breaking an arm or leg, drowning in the ocean, falling out of the kayak, etc etc. But never did he expose her to possible gun violence, possible situation that could have easily gotten out of control. No, I agree with Che2 on her perpective. Risks so they learn and not be afriad but putting them in a possible gun battle? No. I lost 3 friends, police officers over a gun battle. I worry about one as he was injured in the same gun battle. And he would never take his kids on a ride-along. Not until they are 18. In fact, company policy. No activation of cruisers if kid is inside. Cruiser is marked out.
Hey Che2- don\'t do flips. Do flops. Flops cannot be perfect whatsoever, that is why they are called flops. Do a few for me while you are at it. But be careful, I don\'t want you to risk yourself and get physically hurt, LOL.
no offense taken..just the right to disagree..to a point. I have 2 boys. We do all kinds of things. Ride scotters and bikes..jump on trampolines. Boys take Karate and the oldest one wrestles. My boys are ALL boy..wouldn\'t dream of raising a \"de-balled\" man. Having them in a police car while my ex pulls over someone who is breaking the law is simply out of line. Nothing to debete there.
I plan to raise my little men to be big men. Is my ex the kind of man that I want them to be?? Tough..yes. A man?? by your definition..no.
My expectations of my ex were few. I expected him to be good to us. I expected him to come home at night. I expected him to work (that was not a problem) I expected him to be appreciative of all of the wonderful things and people that were in his life. Not too much..I don\'t think so anyway.
I fully expect that my boys will grow up to be men that are independent, competent and courageous. I hope that they learn some of that from thier dad. If not they will learn it from me. A very nice woman..with balls.
just to clarify..my comment was a responce to RandyC..
LOL, I was wondering there for a moment. Was trying to think of my defination of a man and didn\'t remember ever commentin on that. LOL. And you do have balls. Way to go. Later. As always, you\'re right on. Always love reading your journals and comments.
Sorry RandyC - I would freak if my kids were in an unmarked car chasing a stolen scooter...that\'s not a normal or natural risk for young boys to face.
Hell just put some protective vests on them, they\'ll be fine.
OK, I understand and yes most moms are over protective and most dads take risk that can end in injury. I\'m the perfect example of that. I encourage my kids (boys and girls) to take risks (climb higher or go faster). But they are normal growing up risks. I have to agree with the girls on this one, being in a situation where gun fire comes into play, well that\'s just not right.
BTW - my older girl is a better shot than my boy, who\'s 4 years older.
I was raised by an over-protective mom and I hated it (not her, she was great, just the over-protectiveness). I have made an effort to expose my boys to \"controlled\" risks. But sometimes, they have to be boys.
Example: they go to the skating rink with thier helmets - NO ONE is riding with their helmet on. They asked me if they HAD to wear a helmet and I said no. Besides, it isn\'t concrete they\'ll fall on.
Of course, this is a far, far cry from apprehending a criminal with my boys present.
Like everything, it needs balance and moderation. I can\'t stop my 11 year old from taking risks. At the same time, I\'m always encouraging my 13 year old to take them. I\'ve had to force him to surf and force him to kayak and snorkel. In both cases he conquered his fears and thanked me.
I think Che2\'s ex exposed his kids to an uncontrolled risk. In addition to their safety, what if the thief had shot their dad - right in front of them? That won\'t make them tough - that would make them scarred for life. They need their dad, even if he makes wrong choices at times.
what a Jerk...sorry
