Ex's birthday today. A little hard not to think about how we celebrated last year. He brought the kids home last night and they gave him his present. Later Reece and I were playing outside and he told me that dad didn't like his present because he didn't say "wow" or "thank you". He did say thank you but it was kind of a mumble. I told Reece that I was sure that he did. There was a time that I would have called my ex and told him that the next time his kids give him a gift, he could try thanking them clearly and giving them a hug. Not doing it. 39 yrs old today (wish HE was turning 40..lol). I'll just be happy that my 6 yr old knows better.

Mom is an unhappy camper right now and in a good bit of pain. Going to be a rough couple of days but it will get better. She does have medicine and she is taking it.

Not really feeling the big breakthrough this morning.

Maybe I need another cup of coffee..

Sorry your mom is having a rough time. It is so hard to see a parent hurting.

Sorry also that you have to repeatedly watch as your ex lets your kids down in one way or another. That gets old fast, doesn\'t it?

You\'re halfway thru the week. Your breakthrough will come this weekend. I am sure of it. By then, hopefully your Mom will be feeling better also.

I hope your mother\'s recovery keeps proceeding well. I would imagine after surgery that it would be a rough few days, especially considering her age.

What\'s wrong with turning 40? Or being over 40 for that matter? Are you saying that after 40 we become old farts or something? Huh, sorry I didn\'t hear you, I\'m a little hard of hearing.

That\'s sad your H can\'t see how his actions affect the kids. Oh well, some people just can\'t see past themselves. Hope you have a good day.

BCw3..lol..no 40 is not an \"old fart\"..he will hate it though..this is the guy that, when he left, was in possession of more \"beauty products\" than me..lol

You are getting constant reminders of the past lately - company events, birthdays, etc....those are a powerful force.

A great line from Crosby Stills and Nash (which I love but I have a hard time doing): Let not the past remind of us of what we are not now. (Judy Blue Eyes, I believe).

The breakthrough will come, and not as wind as BCw3 has suggested.
