Nice day today. Breakfast with a friend and then to office where a stack of "thank you's" were waiting for me. Must have been piling up on someones desk and I got them all at once. 12 thank you cards and messages from family members of my patients. Read them all and some were awesome. I keep stuff like that in a file at work..when I get discouraged with my job I pull them out and remember why I do what I do.
Tough week for Connor at school..new math and PACT testing. So much pressure on kids now that schools are graded along with the kids. Try to cram everything in before tests. He is not used to needing help and forgets to ask for it. I am going to try tonight to help him understand it but likely won't understand it myself. Not my best subject. Might be sending out an SOS later!!
Came home for a minute..going to check on one more person and get kids. Spaghetti and meatballs tonight. They love that stuff.
Hit some kind of "low" last week. It is wearing off slowly but I am feeling MUCH better.

Just remember not to divide by zero.
hey..yesterdays frustration is todays celebration..the math \"thing\" clicked in his mind today and he won\'t have to find out that mom sucks at math!!
Can\'t help you with the math thing. Mine in 8th & 11th grade I don\'t have a clue. Pizza here tonight yum no cooking. I hate to cook not very good at it. Looking into therapy for my youngest that I could go with her. As a mother I want to be able to help her. Thats next weeks job.
New math? That\'s older than I am!!!! Math doesn\'t change. Kinda like God. Can\'t understand either of them most of the time!
new for him.... fundementals of Math may not change but the way they teach it sure does..
Ask the school if they have any tutorial videos. When I was in college (late in life--graduated 6 years ago) I had not taken math in so many years it was tough. I used tutorial videos available through the school. It was a tremendous help because if I was stuck on something I could just rewind the tape and repeat listening to that section over and over until I got it.
They had a policy that if you bring in a blank video tape or CD
They would make copies of the tutorials for free. You were just providing the blanks for the next set for the next student that requested them--sort of a swap. The price was right because I went to Costco and bought a bundle and traded them for videos. I only have the college algebra series (1 &2) so that would not help you now. It does not hurt to ask the school though...just a thought...
Kid\'s sure can keep you busy with stuff when you\'re by yourself. Sometimes I don\'t get done until 9 or 10 O\'clock. \\
My daughter does that with her homework. She won\'t ask for help. I got her reprt card and she had an A, a B, and 3 C\'s. Not bad but some are slipping. I help my 9 year old with math( 3rd grade ). Never really asked D about hers, she\'s always been good about getting it done. Told her I want to look it over so I can see what she\'s been working on. I was good in math up to the point of calculus then I kind of got lost. So I\'m good most of the way through their school.
It\'s funny to me the other day my son did his homework at mom\'s during a visit. I looked it over when he got home, 2 out of 3 were wrong. Not funny for him but to me the stbx couldn\'t do 3 grade math :) I know maybe that\'s mean. But she is going for a bachelors in buisiness. I do wish her luck though...
