Sad Day
I got an early morning call this morning, asking me to come to my nephew's home. I went down and he had passed away. He was 62 yrs. old, married, no children. He had a form of Parkinson's disease along with dementia. He is my older sister's son. She is in the nursing home, here in town.
I took her and my BIL down to see Steve a couple of weeks ago, I also took them last week because he had gotten worse. They went down yesterday to see him and he passed away at 6:30 this morning.
He was a retired school teacher and Asst. Athletic coach her in town. He was an elder in the Christian Church here and attended with his wife until about a month ago when he got to where he could not walk or converse very well. He was a good man. I remember when he was born and I babysat with him when he was little. He and his wife, Debbie had been married 34 years last month.
Of the 3 siblings left in our family, 2 of us now have lost children. I lost a 37 yr. old son in 2005 and now, my sister has lost a son.
We are a strong Christian family and we will get through this because we know, we are not alone.

Thanks to all of you. Steve was a nice man, kind and gentle. He loved sports, the St. Louis Cardinals, he was a golfing coach at the high school here and was the asst. athletic coach when our high school went to State a few years ago. This was for the first time in many, many years we had done this. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
