Sixteen years ago, I walked you down the aisle
The hardest thing I'd done in a long long while
The "keeper of the stars" was a song played that day
The day I gave my youngest daughter away

Sixteen years have passed since that October day
And now, all the love and vows are passed away
3 children were born to them. since that day
And today I saw their tears, as their dad drove away

All the years of memories, all the days of joy
Were cast away just like an unwanted toy
The tears that we shed at the house today
Are just tokens of a love, that had died and past away.

Lives of so many, will never be the same
The memories, the fun, and we wonder who's to blame
3 children now living in a broken home
Innocent kids, who have no choice of their own

I watched the goodbyes and I saw the tears
of my grand-kids as they kissed their dad
As he held them and cried, then walked away
Oh my friends, it was more than just  sad.

It caused me to remember back in Seventy two
Of all the heartache and troubles that I went through
When I had to leave, and had to say goodbye
I too, held my kids and we all cried

So. I held my grandkids in my arms
And as tears ran down my face
I asked the Lord to watch and care for them
With His love and His Amazing Grace
