Christmas
I woke up this morning and my wife said Christmas plans had changed. Before we deicided to do anything, my oldest daughter and her 2 kids, stopped by our house and gave us our gifts and visited for quite some time. It was a surprise. Due to the snow, my youngest daughter and my grandkids couldn't drive up to be with us today so, we fired up my old explorer, loaded the gifts, food, fixins, etc, and drove down to where she lives. My son and his wife came too. We had a wonderful dinner and visit then, my son had to go on duty. He is a cop. We took his wife home on our way home. All in all, we had a wonderful time.
Now that dad and mom have passed away, it is up to my wife and I to arrange to eat with our kids. We all used to meet at my mom's house every Christmas but, time changes all of that.
I am truly blessed far beyond what I deserve. I have 4 children alive and 1 deceased. I have grand-kids to love and tease, I have my health, my church family and I am blessed to Pastor a wonderful, little country church of about 100. In spite of my terrible past, the heartache, the sorrow, and the problems of my young years, God has been faithful to forgive me, to change me and, to allow me to be a blessing to others.
I have found that if you want a blessing, be a blessing.
