It's been a few days since I posted a new journal entry, so that can either mean I didn't have anything new to say or I didn't want to bore anyone with my whining, lol. It hasn't been the best week, but I'm alive, and I guess that's all that matters. Seems like this time of year Murphy's Law applies more than at any other time. You know, if anything can go wrong, it will. Thursday night, my glasses broke, and they're not wearable. Thank goodness I had one pair of contacts left, so I put those in Thursday night. Friday, I went to the Wal-Mart vision center where I got the glasses from, and spoke with a not-so-nice young "lady" who told me the frames weren't fixable, and I would need a new exam and prescription and new glasses, and well, if you've got that kind of money at this time of year, you're doing better than me. So I get all flustered, tell everyone in the Vision Center to have a lovely evening (with as much sarcasm as I could muster), and came home. Whereupon my sometimes smarter than me husband asks "Did you ask them if they could order another pair of your frames?" I said "No I didn't, because that question didn't dawn on me in my flustered state!" Needless to say, I have now called the Vision Center, asked that question (of another employee) and they actually have a pair of my frames in the store and I will have my glasses fixed by lunchtime today. So I guess the week has ended on a good note, except that I have to go back to Wal-Mart today!!
