Update: Well this afternoon turned out better than I thought it would. My mom, who lives right next door to me, came over and helped me clean up the kitchen. My husband called and told me not to worry about dinner because he was going to be so late. And surfing around this lovely website and reading other's journals and just knowing that there are other people in the same boat have brightened my evening considerably. And yes Tex, the pumpkin fudge is FABULOUS!!
