I\'m proud of you for going. I went to A.A. for a while many many years ago in my 20\'s. There probably is a group for younger people. You sort of have to shop around in a sense. But again I\'m proud of you for going. So far as shrinks you have to shop too. Depends on your insurance. You keep moving forward. I hope you have a good day. Thinking about you. I have you in my thoughts and prayers. love, vickie
Lots of AA meetings out there, you will find one that you click with. Same with the shrink. Congrats on going and stating your feelings. Do you have an AA directory for your area? If you can find and AA store (they have them here in the states) you can usually find a directory that describes the local groups. That may help you out a bit while \"shopping\" for the right community.
Dont give up, keep searching for a good pdoc. They can help alot. A good therapist is essential too,to help you understand your disorder and deal with your past. My son had the same problem with his AA meetings but finally found one with young people in attendance. Ask around or call your local chapter. Sometimes the hospitals even know the dynamics of different AA meetings. I wish you the best and keep you in my prayers. Hugs
I am proud of you for attending AA. Don\'t count to oldtimers out. Remember that they were once young too and have gone what you are going through. I have found that I have learned much more in life by listening to the stories of the oldtimers. They have already made the mistakes in life that await the young. Many times by listening to their stories, really listening, it will prevent you from going through the pain that they have.
