Surgery
Today I got a bill from the surgeon's office for the consultation. It looks like the surgeon doesn't take Mainecare and I will not be able to have the surgery without giving up everything including a place to live. I put in a call to the surgeon's office because if they do not take mainecare I have to cancel the surgery - it is better to live in constant pain than in my car!
My younger daughter totally gets why I would cancel the surgery because of this. My older daughter once again disparaged me and told me that it would all work out but i need to get the surgery anyway.
I am distraught! The surgeon indicated that the surgery would fix not only my lower back but my swollen foot problems because that is due to a pinched nerve in my lower back. He said that if I didn't have the surgery I would probably be paralized eventually. But if this is not covered (and according to Mainecare it is) I will be homeless almost immediately.
