Today

I was supposed to work today, but they called me to let me know not to come in. On Wednesday, my drawer was $2 over, and they spoke to me about it. I also got a call from my grandaughter, who was told I could not get calls at work, and that didn't go over well. As much as I have liked working there, I don't think that it'll last too much longer. I cannot survive on 10 hours a week, and this week it was only 5 hours. So, today I concentrated on finishing a scarf for my mother and starting a scarf for my sort-of son-in-law, tried to plow out the slush from the driveway, and watched a few movies on tv. In between, I've kept the wood stove going, so that the oil will be less, and did a few other things.  They cancelled school in this school distict today, and across the state, in anticipation of a horrible storm, which wasn't so horrible, if you ask me. About 2" of snow, followed by freezing rain that all started to melt. It's going to freeze in the driveway, and that's not good, so i tried to clear enough that we can get the cars out, at least, and opened a pathway to the drainage ditch so alot of the runoff could find an exit. And, as usual when I am home (mostly alone) all day, I have been thinking. One of my problems is that I think about things too much, and sometimes don't come to any conclusions, but get myself worked up for nothing.  All that having been said, I think that the stress I was used to in the office environment I'd become accustomed to is nothing to the stress of having a job where a minor mistake could easily get me fired. I'm too hard a worker to have that little security in a job and when you combine that with minimum wage and very few hours per week: well, you get the picture. I'm looking to secure a "position" with "growth potential" where my "skills and experience" can be mutually beneficial.  Ebay is fun, and usually not so stressful, although there have been customers that were absolutely horrible that caused me some stress, but it'll take quite a bit of time to grow that to support us levels. Add to that spending most of my time alone, thinking about things (mostly myself) and I don't think that this can be my primary source of support, because it drives me nuts to spend this much time by myself. I have an appointment Monday with a new counselor, and hopefully I can actually get some help to manage this anxiety issue of mine. It's been going on for most of my life, and I need to deal with it, now that I've discovered that it is probably the "underlying cause" that everyone keeps talking about. Good luck to me!
