Another trip to the dentist! When I first went, ages ago, the dentist told me I'd need this tooth seen to but I have put it off - got all the other things done first, because I am such a coward. Anyway the day finally arrived and I'm off to have root canal. Just the terminology scares the crap out of me. I was assured that I would be fine and that I would 'love' the specialist dentist who would be doing the work. (yeah, right!!!)
Anyway, it was quite ok. I had no pain, very very little discomfort. Perhaps only from the fleeting injection (but occasionally my rebif shots hurt more!)
So, story nearly over. I have a couple of more visits to get a permanent filling, but that's all... then I'll be brushing and flossing FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!!
One nice thing the dentist observed was that because of the MS, I take good care of myself (which I do) and this has prevented the infection getting any worse. (I didn't even know I had a problem till I saw the x-ray)

On another thing which has troubled me a lot lately is all the sad, angry, hurting, frustrated people there are on DS. Look, I understand that MS gets you down. I've been there and will be again, I'm sure, but I have never found that complaining about thing makes them go away. Am I being harsh? I guess so, and it's great that if you have a whinge here, someone will understand completely what you are going through, and even give you advice....
However....and this is only me speaking from my own perspective. I have coped by doing what I can. Not only that, but accepting that I am less able than I used to be. I guess a good case in point is the fatigue and inability to do much, which I used to suffer from. I decided that only I could do anything, so I started walking every day. From 10 minutes I now regularly walk 30-40 minutes a day. I lost weight because no one force fed me - I decided what I ate.
I guess I am stating the bleeding obvious...and I do believe that God is there, listening ....but His help is far greater if you help Him.
(To quote a clergy friend 'Yes, God will provide, but only if you get off your bum and give Him a hand')
Time not to think about whether the glass if half full or half empty, but that there is SOMETHING in the glass!!!!!!

I\'m glad the root canal was not that bad. I know you are glad it is over. You have a great attitude about life. You are right. Unfortunately, everyone has to go through this their way. Some moan and groan. Some have a great attitude like you. I bounce around myself. I try to look at the glass of full instead of half empty. I wish we could all have your attitude. You are truly an inspiration to us all.
