Spring is here and the equinox yesterday means the days will now be getting longer. The vege beds are planted with a variety of goodies and hopefully the bower birds wont spot the juicy little seedlings. Our next big project is a chook pen (chickens for all you foreigners!). This came about in a pretty funny way.My darling allowed his son to have a party for his girlfriend out here at the weekend and the boy (he's 25) built this big shelter for the event. After all the duff duff music had faded and beer bottles were cleared away I thought that the shelter would make a fine chook pen, with a few alterations.I've also started walking again , something I haven't done since my dx 12 months ago. Again fate took a hand. I hadn't started walking, mainly because I knew the dogs would follow me - they're free range so tying them up wasn't an option and the two little dogs were deaf and partially blind and arthritic so a hazard on the road. In the last month the two elderly dogs have passed on, leaving just the fat lab, Pippa to walk with the fat lady with MS. We're doing okay. I'm only doing about a kilometer a day but it's lovely to be walking the country road. Pippa gets to chase kangaroos , although she would never get up enough speed to catch one.I'm hoping to collect Reggie, my chubby tabby from the vet today. Despite our vigilance she picked up a paralysis tick yesterday and had to go to hospital. The vet rang last night and said she'd responded well to the treatment so she'll be home today. She has to rest for a few days, someting she'll find very easy to do as she seems to do little else!Lots of love to all of you who read my journal. I pop into DS every day. You're an entertaining lot!
