Today I really overdid things. Three schools and about 200kms driving. I am stupid but so utterly determined to get through all my schools. Only one more this week and three next week then I'm done.One of the stories I tell kids is the sensation of a dog peeing on your leg which I think Feisty wrote about - god bless her - it brings the house down when your audience has an average age of eight.Another story they like is the one about my numb bum, which was one of my early symptoms. There is a famous Australian kid's book called 'The Day My Bum Went Psycho' and many of them have read it so when I tell them about the day my bum went psycho , they just love it.Kids are also very awed that I have MS and for the most part sit and listen with very good manners. The teachers also are very supportive , not only of me but also for the fundraising (which is what the readathon is all about) and encourage the kids to take part.I am reminded of a quote from Albert Einstein who said 'Out of difficulty comes opportunity' and that is certainly what this month of volunteering is for me.
