The hot weather over the past few days has totally flayed me. I'm suffering immense lethargy and my legs are absolutely revolting. It's very difficult to stay positive on days like these. I can only do small tasks before I have to rest and watch mindless pay t.v. (ok, I'm very thankful for 103 channels of mindless television!) Relief occurs at around 6pm when the temp drops significantly - it's only five hours away...... The kitten, Willy, has made friends with catzilla, the meanest cat on earth. They have a large cardboard box which they take turns to hide in while the other one pounces from outside. It's very entertaining and very funny to watch the cat from hell succumb to the charms of a vagabond from the scrap metal yard. Miracles do happen. More on the bug front - wasps ......they are up there with ticks and leeches. There's some, called paper wasps which are supposed not to be aggressive but personally, I don't believe it. There are other huge wasps which remind me of those little hornet fighter planes. I swear they must see you from a mile away and want to exert their authority over you. The sight of me running from the bedroom naked, waving my nightie around and squealing  like a stuck pig must have been pretty funny  - and the wasp never even got me!.We watched a huge orange wasp the other day drag a paralysed spider (bigger than the wasp) to its hidey hole. Apparently the wasp lays its eggs in its still living victim and when the eggs  hatch, they eat the unwitting host. Exciting , eh?
