You've heard of the quick step and the two step, you've possibly seen 'Last tango in Paris ' or 'Dances with wolves' but you haven't seen anything until you've watched me get rid of a leech.I'd just brought the bins in and put them under the tree. When I came inside I felt this crawly feeling on my leg (not unusual here given all the insect life - and the MS) but when I looked down it was SCREAM a leech attached to my leg. I just hate these revolting creatures. They are repulsive and slimy and eeewwwww....There I was, hopping up and down on one leg (geez, I never thought that would be possible again!) and shaking the other leg madly trying to dislodge the little horror. I tried to pull it off , all the while keening at the top of my lungs, but it steadfastly clung on.Salt, I thought, I must find salt. So I do some variation of the Arctic monkey as I limp around searching for the salt. (still making the omygod I'm dying noises).OK salt on the little sucker. More salt more salt. I'm still hopping around hyperventilating and pouring salt until it finally drops off into the mound of salt which has pooled on the floor. Phew.My darling comes in and laughs at me. This man gets leeches in his socks all the time. (One time our lounge room floor resembled a scene from 'Saw' because he didn't even notice he'd been leeched. ) I am not laughing. I do not want to hear about how clever the anatomy of a leech is. I especially do not want to hear about the smart little hook that pierces your skin.....I'm staying inside today.

OMG! I was just getting used to the strange sensations on my legs, convincing myself that there\'s nothing there!! Now, I\'ll be imagining leeches!! ;o) LMAO only kidding, I hope.. ;o)
All I can say is maybe hairspray would work? I know that\'s a great way to get a tick off a dog. Stands to reason that a leach needs to breath... Glad I peed before I read this! LOL!!! xo Cj
The salt works fine - but I think the dancing helps as well!
I had a leech once. It was gross and cool at the same time...of course I was 10. My uncle burned it with a cigarette..then I bled all over...super cool. I never knew about the salt trick. I haven\'t swam in that particular sewage pipe since either.
That is....gross...but at least you got your legs working like their old selves again!!! Maybe we should post that up on the board, \"Orsova\'s Leech Therapy for Increased Mobility\"! LOL!
You are so descriptive. I imagined you jumping around and thought that would get me off my ass real quick too! I love Julz comment!
