Rain rain go away....It's been pouring here for several days, while the rest of the country swelters in a heat wave, we're drowning. There's a bit of a lull at the moment and the kookaburras are letting everyone know. Their call sounds lake laughing, hence their nick name 'laughing jack ass'. They often start laughing when the rain stops so I hope it's a good sign. The house is awash because Pippa the dog loves rain. She goes outside, gets soaking wet, then comes back inside bringing all the water with her. Luckily the floors are tiled.Reg the cat met her first frog last night. We heard this plaintive miaow while we were watching t.v. and when I went to  see what the problem was , she was standing over a green tree frog about 3" long that had somehow gotten into the house. Of course she had to have lots of praise for being such a clever cat. The frog was safely dispatched to the garden.I think I over did the 'oh what a fantastic cat you are' routine, because she woke me at some ungoldly hour this morning to let me know that another frog had gotten inside.

WOW! First, I\'ve never seen a tree frog in person; second, we only have little ones in Ohio (I think)... Plus, a kookaburra??? I only know that by the childhood song... You must live is a wonderful exotic area, rain and all! xoxoxo Cj
