So I went to social services today to sign my son up for daycare assistance.  It wasnt hard to do, but with the stbx always being late, I figured I had to do something to take care of the situation.  So far, my kids have medical assistance, food stamps and now daycare assistance.  I have done it all to take care of these kids the best I can at this moment.  Some say I should get a better paying job, but I like my job and they give me the hours I need to be able to take care of my kids when they are not in school.   I dont feel bad about this.  I feel pretty good actually.  I feel as if I am finally taking care of us.  Maybe not the way I want, but I am doing something.  I am not relying on him any more.  That is really a good feeling.   Let me get this on ink so I can come back and check on it again when I need to.  OK:October and November I couldnt use the $250.00 credit card.  That equels $500.00.Novembers $500.00 check bounced.  Received $200.00 from stbx on December 1st, 2007. Then on Dec 7, 2007, he gave me $700.00 cash.   Then Jan 11 2008, I got $60.00.Add that all up and the total is $960.00.  If you add up what he was supposed to give me it is...$500.00 for cc, $500 for November, $500 for December and $500 for January.  That equels $2000.00.  So $2000.00 minus $960.00 is $1040.00. By the way, I still cant use the cc for this month.  The check hasnt cleared yet!  So they have it on hold until the end of the month, the 29th!  So, that is one more month I dont have money from him. I seriously doubt he will catch up to what he owes me.  What is he going to do when he HAS to pay child support?  They put guys in jail now for not paying!  What a moron!

This is a good thing that you are doing. Always keep track of what he owes you and understanding that it may never be. What the old saying, \" plan for the best and prepare for the worst\". And that is what you are doing. The side benefit from doing this is that your time is spent on psitive you things and not on him. You go girl, baby steps, one day at a time. It would be nice to see his ass in jail, but that benefits no one. Stay strong and keep the right attitude, and always remember we dont know what tomorrow will bring, we are still on that rollar coaster. The ride will end someday and we will be free. Love Joe

You are amazingly strong! Keeping track is good, as is not really expecting him to meet that obligation.

You\'re doing everything right...taking care of you and your kids however you can.
