Well, I have been having a very productive couple of days. I virtually finished all of my work for this semester. I think I am going to pull a 4.0 this time around. I am pretty extatic about that because that will allow me to graduate Magna Cum Laude. This is something that I have strived for for 20+ years. I have gone back to school 3 times since I graduated from high school. First I went to college right out of HS and my sister died as a result of a car accident. I then changed my mind and enrolled to be a paramedic which didn't require a degree. And I worked at the fire department for 13 years. I then went back to school and got my Associates in general science just for GPs. Then I went back for my Registered Nurse - another Associates. Now I am back for my Bachelor's and I duel-majored in Psychology and Nursing. From there I want to go to graduate school and get my Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner's License. Regardless, when I returned to school this last time, I went on a full scholarship for academics. When I returned my then husband told me he would support me going back to school since we wouldn't have to pay for a dime of it and since he is a firefighter and is virtually home most of the time and could care for the children (or grandma could) the 16 hours a week that I would be out of the house. We had an agreement that I would do all my schoolwork after the kids went to bed. So, 1 week into my going back to school and he caring for the kids, he gave me an ultimatum: either school or him. Without batting an eye I said school. What man can't care for his own children for 16 hours a week when he is home in that time anyway? He wouldn't do it. I ended up hiring a babysitter to watch his children while he was home and I went to school. The funny thing is, he thinks he was so supportive of me while I went to school. That is why I am so proud of myself for graduating Magna Cum Laude. If I hadn't screwed off that first year while I was grieving my sister's death, there is a good chance I would have graduated Summa Cum Laude, but life is what it is. I am grateful of my accomplishments none the less. One more semester to go!

You certainly have your head screwed on just right. You made an excellent decision and you will be reaping the rewards of it soon! Your ex didn\'t realize how good of a wife he really had. Keep it up as you are doing awesome!!
Hi-I just wanted to say Congrats! I know all too well the non-supportive other parent deal breaker stuff. It\'s just about enough to drive a mom insane, while everyone else stands around and says what do you have to complain about? Keep on keepin on Godschildtoo!
