CATCHING UP ....

I have one of those silly Spring colds.  I hate being sick - for any reason.  When my husband gets a cold he literally takes to his bed for the duration.  The last time was 9 days!  Do you believe that?  And he was still working at the time and couldn't figure out why he lost that job.  HMMMMM .........
So what happens if I stay in bed?  DH  (dear husband) is a hoarder.  We have strict rules.  Since I just paid to have the living room, dining room, part of the kitchen, the small bathroom, and my tiny bedroom remodeled, I refuse to allow him to drag any of his junk out to these common areas of the house.   He slowly drags his junk into these rooms, thinking I won't notice. These are the rooms that guests see when they stop by and I try to keep them looking sharp - especially now that that area is remodeled.  I try to really keep it looking nice.  All I have left to do in the kitchen is new sinks and counter tops.
What did I do in the area of the house that he has declared as his?  NOTHING!  That may sound cruel, but when the general contractor came to give us estimates, he said there was nothing he could do with that area as there was too much junk in there.  HA!  And he thought I was being over-critical.  But I did take the time to climb over his piles of junk to try to change the sheets on his bed.  Have you ever tried to put on a fitted sheet when you have to lay of the bed to do it?  Had anyone been filming me, they would have hurt themselves laughing!  It is virtually impossible to but a fitted sheet on a bed while you are laying on it and can't get around the sides.
So he sleeps on it that way.  He straightens out one little section and stretches out on that and can actually sleep that way.  But since I sleep in a recliner, who's to say he's uncomfortable.  In my dreams,  I have one of those Tempurpedic adjustable beds all to myself.  Or a  Sleep Number bed would work as well - as long as it is adjustable.  Ah - we can all dream can't we?
But he does pay my medical bills, also for food.  My clothing I get at Goodwill or Salvation Army.  Since the only place I ever get to go is to church, grocery shopping and occasionally to work, why do I need nice clothing (in his opinion)?  The kids that I work with all dress like refugees from a rag pickers ball, so I fit right in there.  Still, I wish I had more time to be here and more time to read.  I only got 18 books read this last month.  I think I have over 1,000 downloaded on my Kindle.  Ah Yes!  One can totally lose themselves in a good book.  I always say I will read just a few pages before I go to bed.  What that really means is I'll read half of it and finish it tomorrow - unless it's super good.  Then I have to finish it before I can sleep.
