Holy fucking shit.   It never ends.   Just when something starts to look up, something else drops me waaaaaaay back down.   I finally get my disability...yay.  So what happens?  I make too much money for assistance, hence, I lose my medical coverage.  $1200 for my scripts alone...never mind the weekly tdoc visits and my pdoc visits.  There's my money...nearly all of it.  What the fuck kind of world are we living in?   I'm not even living.  I'm spending moment to moment, up then down.  I'm relieved then plunged into despair.  Not a single day of respite.  These are the days I say...."what the fuck am i here for?"   I just want to die.

Hanna, I\'m so bad you\'re feeling so bad. You\'re right -- this country\'s healthcare sucks. It\'s not right! If you can possibly find the strength, keep persevering. I know it might not feel like it, but you will find joy again. I\'m at a real low, too. What I doubt in myself I can see to be true in others -- and I can see that you do have good things in front of you. Please just keep holding on. Much love, Jen

I read your post Sorry to hear you are having troubles with med insurance. I had similar problems a year ago and I worked with my pdoc to come off my meds slowly. This is very important. I have a link if you want to try getting your meds from the makers but as you have said it takes time. I have used it but stopped and I am using an alternate plan.

I have developed a treatment plan for myself over the years and I believe it takes several things to manage my illness. Until I get back on prescription meds I am using omega 3, mulitvitamin, and st Johns wort as my meds. I know it isn\'t much but hope this helps you decide what you want to do.

THe different drug makers web sites may have a link for meds for low or no income. Here is one:

My treatment program:

I am managing my bipolar or my program using several things I have learned in therapy over the years. I believe in the 12 step program for recovery and the following things.

1) Avoid major stress and drama,

2) Get the right amount of sleep 7-8 hours (not 3 or 16)

3) Eat good meals and limit my caffeine intake

4) Stay positive about things using skills I have learned (self talk)

5) Supplement my diet with a good senior vitamin, Iomega 3, Vitamin B-12 and extra calcium, st Johns Wort for depression.

6) Daily exercise

7) Don\'t use other things as a substitute for medication like pain pills, food, caffeine or alcohol. (Don\'t take drugs or drink alcohol)

8) Stay in tune with anything you can read about Bipolar like news letters

9) Keep in touch with your support system (family & friends)

10) I use one tablet of Benadryl to help me fall asleep and stay asleep.

11) 12 step program: God grant me the serenity, to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.

** I don\'t condone, promote or recommend adding to or stopping any med or treatment program without discussing it with your doctor first.

Good luck! Let me know if I can anwer any questions
Bob
