Well, it's been a month since I started the Metformin. I only take 1000mg a day. It's not taking care of my blood sugar at all, but I can tell it's helping me lose weight and help my ovary issues. I got a period this month! I haven't had a period in years unless I'm on birth control. I have PCOS...huge cysts all over my ovaries.
I go back to the doctor in a week. I know she's going to have to raise my dose of Metformin...which means more stomach problems. Yay...I hope my actos comes in soon. There is a drug that has both actos and metformin in it. But anything with actos in it I can't afford and have to wait for the company to send it to me.
I'm doing pretty good as far as eating less sugar. I may not be able to control my weight through a lot of excersise, but at least I can control what I eat! I would love to lose 50lbs this year. Hmm..maybe a new goal??

When you have Fibro and Chronic Pain it is next to impossible if not impossible to exercise to loose weight. Your activity level also decreases - so I\'m sooooo happy that the metformin is helping you with your weight! I gained so much weight between the inactivity and the meds I know how frustrating it is. hi ! So whats this drug called with actos and metformin in it? Im asking because i was just told i had PCOS but not offered any help/treatment. Was thinking of asking my doc for something....
