When I lived with my mom, we aquired a pregnant cat. She had 3 kittens that made it. And we kept them all. Then less then a year later I was sick in bed and my mom came in with a present. She said to close my eyes...she put it on my chest and it was the cutest little kitten I've ever seen. It became my cat. I called her Stinky Butt because when she was on my chest she put her butt in my face and it stunk. LOL She was always sleeping with me...she was my cat. When I moved with Jonathan (my boyfriend), we didn't have money for a pet deposit. So, my mom kept all the cats since they all loved being with each other. I really missed her...then a couple years later I got Lucy (a cat Jonathan and I got a year ago). Fast foward to a week ago...My mom has an outisde cat that comes in sometimes. (he's the brother of the pregnant cat we took in) He gets a cold every year, and this year he gave it to all five of the inside cats. Stinky Butt seemed to get it worse then everyone. But we thought she was getting better. We were gone all day Thursday cause we had things to do for my grandparents. When my mom got home, Stinky Butt couldn't walk. She hadn't eaten or drank anything. Her nose was all stopped up and she was very weak. My mom was going to take her to the emergency vet place Thursday night, but she didn't want to haul the cat all the way in town and the cat was too sick to go into a carrier. So, yesterday my mom called and asked me if I would drive her to the vet. My mom scooped her up in blankets and held her while I drove. I've never seen a cat so sick. Once the vet started examining her, that's when we found out how bad she really was. Her temp was 92.6 and it's suppose to be around 101. She was very dehydrated and had blood all in her mouth. We didn't know that until then. The doctor said she's very sick and they started working on her immediately.We left and waited to hear from the vet. The vet said that nothing really showed up in the blood work. But it seemed like she probably has an underlying kidney problem..and when she got sick and dehydrated, it made things worse. The vet called us to see if we wanted to take her home for the night and bring her back the next morning. So we did.We thought she was going to make it cause she finally urinated a couple times. (she hadn't used the bathroom in a couple days since she wasn't eating or drinking)  And I thought she looked a little better. My mom called me at 3:45 this morning...Stinky Butt didn't make it. We've both been a mess over this. My mom is taking it a lot harder cause once I moved out, Stinky Butt became my mom's baby. She was only about 7 years old. I'm going to miss her so much.And now 2 other cats are getting worse. So we will probably have to take them in as well. I know this is extra hard on us since we lost 5 cats and dog in a house fire 8 years ago. I wish I could comfort my mom, but I know nothing I can say will help.  Please, if you pray, please pray that my mom gets through this ok. She's such a mess. I feel so bad for her.
