Hello to all of my Daily Strenght familyHope all is well with you guys. It's cold and cloudy today here in east ontario.This moring I went for my CBC's, and also testing for RA, will get my results at my next appointment unless my numbers for my liver is abnormal. Now I understand that testing for RA might lead to other tests, to know exactly which kind I have, hopefully it's not the same one that my uncle Raymon had when he died years ago. His hands were almost crippled in the end. In the morning when I start making the coffee, if I don't grab real hard my cups and spoons, I drop them. I need to always be very focus on what I grab cause I drop things. I haven't broke soo many dishes and glasses in my whole life and now it seems to be soo frequent. So upon telling all these things re: my hands and aches and pains, he told me he would test me until he gets an answer for me. After all I am not that old, which is what I keep telling him, I am soo surprised at all the many diagnosed I am left to deal with at this age. God my mother is 68 and she's in better shape than I am. But I do blame the interferon treatment for activating all this illness that I would have probably have had in time, like over the years but not this soon. Oh well the only thing to do now, is deal with it the best I can. I have a great understanding Doctor, so this is definatelly a plus. Then my family are also very patient and supportive of me, then my family's support here at DS is soo wonderful.I also went to visit my mom today, she is staying at my younger sister for the week, so she was very happy to see me. I am such a stranger when it comes to visit my family. Ok when she was in her accident I spent a lot of time with her, but now that she's back I go less and less. My older sister does her weekly clean up, cue to the fact that I have a hard time just doing mine, so she helps out, and of course my dad payes her, the insurance has a specific amount that is reembursed weekly for that.My little doggies, Maggie was soo happy to see me back home, she's always with me, and rarely alone, I usually bring her with me, but I didn't know how long it would take at the hospital, so she stayed home alone.Also received my daughter's school pictures, wow she is simply perfect. lolNow hope that those on tx are having minimal sides effects, and those living with chronic pain may you have a pain free day.Luv to all....... Oh MK I am so sorry you are in such pain. Have you thought about buying some plastic dishes and glasses to get you through this spell? Fortunately there are now meds for RA if the liver is in good shape and I think yours seems to be, please don\'t worry. I am glad you\'ve been seeing your mom lately, it seems that way. Enjoy your daughters beauty everyday, in and out for they grow so fast. You\'re blessed to have children. I still can\'t get myself together, even with hubby home today. I am at a standstill. I understand pain only to well. The weather is making it worse. I hope it subsides for you soon. You have been x busy lately and thats good but I think it wears you down and aggravates the condition. Take care of you! Peace and love
McKenzie~I hear you and know the fears you must be having. There are so many unknowns with these kind of illnesses. I really don\'t have any thing else to offer except my friendship, empathy and prayers. Please take care and remember if you need to vent~ I am here.
Greetings Mckenzie; We\'ve been thru\' this one - younger d. got some form of arthritis when 13 (worst part was the bitchiness of her classmates - she had great trouble writing). The only Rheum. Specialist here at the time is a right bastard - when she couldn\'t sit final exams (non-attendance in Term 2) he would not give her a supporting letter to repeat the year & get Low Wage Family Support. Even Dr.Mckenzie (School Counselor) got the big ignore when she tried to intercede). She\'s largely grown out of it, but hands are v.weak-so professionally she plays with rocks!) I\'ve had the chance to talk to spec. in Canberra-he phoned rhem.specialist in Sydney-classmate of his- she said there\'s about 10% non-reactive to the antibody test (which mine was). If this happens to you (I sincerely hope it doesn\'t) don\'t freak out! It may mean you\'ve another form -there are about 200 I gather - gout is the only one that\'s really controllable - I take only 1 NSAID- after lunch. Refused steriods on daughter\'s behalf- Saw what they did to my sister, who had MS & was on 19 (whatever-never understood the dosage). Couldn\'t take celebrex (New \"wonder drug of about 3-4 yrs. ago - it was a mix, & one ingred. was an antibiotic( Turns out it has had really bad sides. O\'wise it\'s just codiene 30gm & acet. 3 or 4 times per day. If I\'m bad I stay in bed - I pre-cook & freeze meals-Sept-Oct her v.bad here: barometric pressure up & down like a yo-yo -and it really does matter with me - I couldn\'t live in a worse place.. Well, that\'s all about our experience. I hope it\'s not rheumatoid - I also have Osteo.-in my left toe! - it never ached until a couple of weeks after I was told about it!.But it has had a will of it\'s won for about 12 years! You will have to slow down -& I feel you are probably right re. the HepC treatment - your poor immune system would have had an awful time with all that. I self-diag. when I was about 34-working in Med.Library, Dept. Heath, Canberra. I suddenly got a gnawing, almost itchy pain & a lot of swelling in the first joint of fingers - the ones below where rings sit. Luckily I have very big hands, but no strength-daughter\'s hands are v.small: she\'s got a male in the house, which really helps I have a gadget that fits over the top of jars - it\'s a medical toy from son-in-law\'s Dad, who\'s a Doctor. Just got it - it\'s made by Roche: ask your Dr. if he\'s got any (I\'ve got a friend who\'s hubby is a general surgeon: the back of his rooms was full of medical \"freebies\" - mostly demo models in his case). I\'d be unable to open anything with a lid on it without this thingo! I got a message re. HepC quilt - was talking to someone about elder daughter\'s doing all this quilting with hexagons - someone must have read it & I got contacted re. beginning one: I saw the AIDS one here about \'90-91: it was enormous - filled the City Hall, which takes up a whole block! Young women who contacted me suggested we make it 5 times larger, as that\'s the number of people with HepC. I have to stay up until 4am today - just as well I\'m a night owl.
