Had my PCP's appointment on friday, and it was the greatest meeting ever.I just love my young doctor, he is truly amazing. He knows that medicine is my bag, and loves to look over some topics I always seem to pop out when I see him. I had my little Health diary that I keep my doctors, numbers, appointments addresses, and of course with all of the questions I need to discuss with him. I told him how the extreme fatigue is always there with me daily, and that I wanted to get a CBC (complete blood count) done, in order to check on my ALT"S AST"S, he then started to look at my files in order to find the last PCR test results he had in there, and there it was, in black and white, the results from July 06, dated December 06, the short paragraph was just amazing to read. We were both sitting side by side and he let me read it as he held it up for me, it said that after 3 PCR since 2003, "THE PATIENT IS CURED" of the virus hep c. It was so amazing to see the words and read them right off this page. Truly amazing.Then we discussed my chronic pain medication. I told him That I was worried about taking such addictive meds, but he then told me that with my chronic daily pain I will take these meds the rest of my life. He also got me to take a blood test for RA, RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS. He checked my hands, and they were a bit swollen, and I explained to him that whenever I go to grab something, I need to really grab it hard and hold it there, because I usually drop it, if I don't pay attention. So he's checking me for different muscle or bone deficiency.He is the greatest. Sure I have been dealt a bad hand of cards, but I am possitve and won't let it put me down. I will live one day at the time, and take it as i go. I will be patient with myself, and continue to live with a possitive attitude.It's been rainning here in Ontario, Canada since the beginning of the week, so my pain is acting up big time, but I have meds that do take some of it away until the weather gets better.Hope everyone is having a side free weekend, and to those living with chronic pain, I hope you have minimal pain.Until monday, have a great Sunday.Mckenzie one day at the time

I am soo lucky to have such a understanding doctor.
He knows my pain is real, and he does everything in his power to make me live a comfortable life even though I have daily chronic pain. He is the best.
Since being diagnosed with soo many health issues, I had applied for a long term insurance plan, the deductable is 1100.00$can a year, but worth every penny.
If I wouldn\'t have this insurance, just for myself it would have cost me over 500,00$ yesterday.
Just my 2 inhalers were 150.00$
Then the daily pill I take for my COPD was 86.00$
Also my pain killers are 138.00$
ECT.....
Can\'t wait for my results. He said he would call me.
and I believe he will. He always does.

I am so glad you\'re being treated for the pain, I waited three years to get into a pain clinic, and was lucky to have a doc prescribe me for pain. I take valium for the rest of my life for my back pain. You;re just a great power of example for me always. I appreciate your journals so much. Alexandria

You truly have the doctor from heaven there! - but am amazed: don\'t you have a Provincial Health plan? -I got all in the Quebec -once they had found us in Ottawa_ on the Regie de l\'assurance-maladie du Quebec. Being a landed Immigrant, & having paperwork lost was not Funny!- only thing we get in Oz is presecrition Medication - $5.00 per script for Oldies, Chronically ill & unemployed (also low wage earners)-it was excellent 10 yrs. ago, but Lib Govt (Which is conservative, just to confuse) has starved the system - bad for elderly, so I took out private ins. bec, of living in a poor State - mine is $1,200 p.a. - & includes rebate for chiro, osteopath, foot & nail people, specs, & dental (I now have 1 tooth). Did Ontario ever have a universal health plan? Are you still doing the Quit thing? - what a lot at once. but marvellous news in black & white - CURED! Whew. The G-G granted the Prime Min. a general election today - we have only 3 days to enroll - he\'s been up to Bush\'s trucks - tried to dis-enfranchase prisoers: that went to the High Court, and was overturned...it will be partly a race based contest, which I really hate - & out role in Iraq, which is becoming v.unpopular! That\'s all the lastest news from ZOz today. So pleased tht all\'s going well for you - don\'t worry re. the p\'killers\' being addictive - I taken codiene for the scoliosis pain - long ago resigned myself to the fact I\'m technically an addict - but can come off them - slowly - if I have to! Have a look at my new pics. - Terry took one, minus makup, brushed hair, and no teeth - then & decided I looked sallow (no sun for 4 mths) & coloured me up! WOW!, they actually used the word CURED!!!! Thats fantastic news!!! I can only pray that it happens to me. The dampness messes with me also. It takes me a long time to get moving, allmy muscles and joints feel stuck! I hope it gets better and all your tests come back excellent!!! With love and respect
Yes Jane I have health care with is free, but this insurance if a private one for medication only. See Richard is only 42 now, and I\'m 4o something so we need to pay for our meds unless we get this private insurance which is worth every penny (deductable 1000.00$ annualy).
I am still on the patch but got some champix which is how they spell it here in Canada, when I finish my patches and if I still smoke I will get my script for now it\'s in the pharmacy\'s database.
I need to pay for it, the private ins. won\'t pay, but no taxes on quitting smoking products, since 2 months now. New in Ontario.
My mother is doing good, but she tends to get up and walk on her cast and he foot had some fever in it, whatever that means.
This is what the nurse told her, she is way to active for a women who was just in a car crash like that.
She has a daily nurse going every day. (2 hrs)day
My father bought himsself a brand new Lincoln Continental, 56,000.00$ the car of his dreams.
The insurance paid for the other one, which was not quite a year old, so he\'s soo happy, just like a kid at Christmas.

Wow-what a doc-sounds like he needs to hire you as a consultant! Can\'t imagine what you must have felt to hear \'Cured\'. Doesn\'t help you serious pain issue but thank God he is a doc who doesn\'t worry about writing scrips like some. I wouldn\'t worry about addiction-do what ya gotta do to function as pain free as possible!
Sounds like ya got one spunky mom and cool dad-glad he got car of his dreams-shows something good always comes from bad things. Hope new tests are good for ya dear---take care!
