Hello to all of my darling friends here at DS. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. For some reason, yesterday I felt soo good that I managed to do a good 5 to 6 hours of housework, from dusting, washing all the floors, cleaning every room in the house, also did all of my laundry and believe me there was lots.Having soo many appointments here and there, by the time I get home I am totally exhausted, and do the strickly necessary, so the house really needed a good scrub all the way around, and I did it all.Last night my back hurt soo much, from between my shoulders to the lower back, that I didn't get to sleep much, even my heavy pain killers didn't do the trick. I slept a total of 3.5 hours, and this morning I had my appointment with my nurse from the quit smoking program. It took everything out of me, but I managed to shower and get all dressed up, and went to my meeting. The meeting was very productive. First we filled in forms, I am number 4881, they use numbers for privacy reasons. This is a medical study. The Nurse was really, really nice. Of course being obligated to quit due to emphysema and COPD, the lady gave me all of the boxes of patches allowed and included a nicotine inhaler that she gives out only to those who prefer to have 8 boxes of patches and the inhaler. I had the 10 boxes of patches, and the good kind, Nicoderm, and the inhaler, good for 30 days. She showed me how it worked, and said to use it when it's the hardest time for me not to smoke. For example: after a meal, you take a puff of the inhaler and it gives you a hit of nicotine that is equivalent to a smoke, so the urge leave right away. Simply wonderful. I have great faith that this time around, I will quit for good, without cheating myself. We also discuss me getting into this program with a nutritionistin 10 weeks, after this program is over. I am looking forward to start living a healthier life than ever and hopefully loose some of the weight I had gainned during treatment and since. On another note, today I received a personal message from a member here at DS, and this person thought that I was ignoring him. If there is anyone here who thinks that I am ignoring them, it aint soo, please let me know if you do Like I replied to this member, I have soo many personal messages, hugs, and comments from members in my journal, and every day, if I am not sick, I reply to each and every one of these friends support or advice. So please don't ever think that! come and visit my journal and it reminds me to come and visit your journal if you need me.To ALL of you kind friends, have a great evening and see you all tomorrow.Mck One day at the time

No I\'m not mad about this, it\'s just that I never thought I would actually make someone feel like I am ignoring them when I\'m not.

Hello Mckenzie,
Had a tough week - death of v.old & lovely friend - dunno what, but heart problems run in family!- then internet virus got me - spent all weekend running diagnostics etc. (in the dark-cannot afford 100$ per hour for a tech.) Congrats. on the quitting smoking - if I did it (with patches) anyone can. I altered my evening routine: and went down in 6 steps, rather than 3 (told my Dr. of course). Glad you have support team. You will feel a lot better in a few weeks, tho\' you may cough up a lot of muck from deep down! (I was wondering where it was coming from!)Not myself this week - car battery died - after 2 call-outs from the RAC! - Spine is so bad I cannot walk far, so really miss it! - appt.with osteopath today -can walk downhill, but not back. Hope the patches don\'t itch! - mine did, but knew it might happen: tested allergic to nicotine already. Hang on in there, Fond regards, JaneD.
