Good morning my dear friendsYou are all soo encouraging and would like to thank you all for your reply yesterday, it's nice to know that I have you guys to support and give me advice on my medical problems.I will definately get tested for RA. I had stumbled upon an article that links interferon which is a form of chemo I have underwent over 3 years ago, and was on it for 11 months, and the article linked Rheumatoid Arthritis to interferon.So what I will do is research this topic and bring it with me to my PCP and get tested for it. Beside so far I have learned that RA is a family generation hand me down, lol, and in my family we have it on both sides of the family, so.......I took 2 of my daily pain meds this morning, (5am) and I still have pain in my hands, unbelievable, you'd think the pain would be gone, 40mgs of oxycontin. WEIRDOn a better note, it was my mother's birthday yesterday and my younger sister had called us up to go and share a birthday cake and visit them last night, since richard comes back from work at 8pm we finally got there around 9pm and they were soo happy to see us. See since treatment 3 years ago, I rarely visit my family anymore, and I usually just skip all invitations, which is why they were soo happy to see us. I am happy that I push myself to go, besides it did me good to go out. We came back around 11pm and went straight to bed, I slept good for once, lol.Now what 's new here with all of you dear friends.Later.........

oxycontin, how long have you been on this med?
I am wondering if you have built up a tolerance for your dosage. I did when I was taking hydrocodone, I had to take more to get any relief.
Hi Mic, Mom Is on very high dose of Oxycontin,, It helps the bone cancer pain, But the odd part is it does not touch the RA pain. Some work better for diffrent things.. Wishing you a pain free day love D

Boy, sorry to hear about the pain! Tx is tough and some of the after effects have been hard on me too. I diffently feel better if I get out and visit with family or friends. Get out of self. My Dr., had to switch my pain med, after my motorcycle wreck from oxy to norco and back due to build up. Wish you the best, we all love you dearly and you are always in my prayer.

Mackenzie: forgot (this maybe needs translating, as I don\'t have the library tools) - will try using drug names: I take 1 dose of 200mg IBUPROFEN circa 2pm(after eating) It is best for pain - but the downside is of course, stomach/duodenal ulcers. I can tolerate 1 dose per day. The other painkillers are for 2 or 3 problems - just 500mg paracetamol (in Can. it\'s acet-something) with 30mg codiene - you need a high fibre diet! no side effects there - except missing a couple of doses isn\'t fun!. Works well - I take a multivitamin tab & a mix of cod liver oil & flaxseed oil (Omega 3 & 6 fatty acids-keeps the myelin healthy they tell me - with Mum & Sister dead(MS) I look on that as insurance. Tastes awful, but inflicted it on g\'son each week-rice cakes & butter after for him-takes away the taste. Glad you went to your Mum\'s birthday celebrations -did you get the ususal problems re. the HepC Big Misunderstanding? - my elder d.got it from father\'s family. Won\'t have her in the house bec. of her infection! -I\'ve lived with her, & her HepC and HIV+ gay friend: he was careful shaving, etc. & kept the kitchen spotless (elder d. cooked, but was manic, so stuff went everywhere!) I moved, but only bec. he turned out to be a dreadful con.man & thief. Sadly, I can\'t help you with the other painkillers people mention, as I\'ve no Ref.Books at Home- no Pharmacopaediae! ( sounds like a breed of moth!) Hope the pain eases-life seems so full of it; in winter I just don\'t get out of bed early-no point! Take care, JaneD.
Hi sweetie, Sorry you are having such pain, I know that when I was diagnosed with Hep c. they also told me My rheumatoid factor was very high, It has been elevated ever since, Thats how I got my diagnosis with the Fibro, All the Drs. that I go to have told me that the RA fator being high is due to Hep c., Although at this time they say I don\'t have RA but could eventally be diagnosed, it does hurt, I hope and Pray you can find some relief soon, I don\'t even think you can get oxycotin, in our state anymore, Your lucky to get Lortab, I do know they told me to use 800mg of Ibprofren, to help with the inflamation, You might ask about that, Said it was better than tylenol for hep c patients, I have used a little of it, but I hate taken anything that might cause my #\'s to go higher, so I just use the lortab, It doesn\'t help completely, and tends to make a person grumpy, We just can\'t win for losing, Can we ? My Dad has been on oxycodone which seems not to help much for his pain, cancer. I was on hydrocodone for pain when broke ankle this past april. 500mg 3 times a day and I had withdrawels after I got off them. Hope you get to feeling better. Love, Beth

RA is very hard to get undercontrol if your hands are swollen also then the doctor needs to get the inflamation down first then some of the pain will easy up but unfortunaley with RA pain never goes away, try a hand brace,thats what the doctor told me on Monday when I seen my RA
