As of last Thanksgiving, my daughter hadn't spoken to me for 6 months and, of course, she refused to have dinner with us.  I was still in the "she'll get over it" phase, but Thanksgiving was a wake up.  So my husband, daughter and I drove up to my brother's for the holiday because I couldn't bear to have a big dinner for just the three of us-  and my brother's and his family are wonderful.
I asked my ED to come to our house and watch the cat while we were gone and she agreed.  When I came home I found she had made thanksgiving dinner for her boyfriend at our place.  Fine with me.  She left the place a little messy.  She's a slob, there can be no other opinion on that, but she ALMOST cleaned up the place so I just shrugged and finished cleaning up.  I found the aluminum foil in the refrigerator.  There was an open bottle of wine in the freezer and a desk chair in the middle of the bathroom.

Why?? My therapist said, immediately, "DRUGS.  When there's no other explanation, it's probably drugs". WHAT???  When she didn't graduate college I asked for an explanation - I asked if she was going through some trauma or if she had a substance abuse problem, etc.  She told me that I was wrong.  In fact, I was a horrible person for suggesting that she was on drugs.  But now I'm not sure....
