Surgery...
I'm stressed. Last Tuesday I went to the podiatrist because my foot had been bothering me. Although I'm a fat blob of goo ... I maintain an active lifestyle and my feet are important to me. I was told that I needed surgery to repair (long story short) what is, in essance, a birth defect that should have been fixed a long time ago. I decided to get a second opinion, which happens tomorrow but yesterday I figured I'd go hiking just to "test" it out. Bad idea. Now it's worse and I'm even more worried. I was reading an article this morning (should have been working but I was focused on my foot) and it was describing the surgery and stated that it's pretty serious. It said that I'd be in a cast for two months and would be facing a long recovery. NOT what I wanted to hear! So I'm scrolling back up to the top of the article and it turns out that it was authored by the doctor I'm seeing tomorrow, for the second opinion. Who knows, maybe the first doctor was wrong. Maybe I don't have what he said I have and it will be an easier, shorter and less painful fix. I'll find out tomorrow ... - - - - - - - - - - - - - My mom called. She's visiting this weekend. I told her about my foot and she basically blew it off. I guess I shouldn't expect more ... but, I'll admit, I expected a *little* more concern. Oh well...
