>:o

This whole eating healthier thing is not working. It's 3 A.M. and my tummy has been crying for ten minutes straight. It's so loud I can't sleep! For god's sake this isn't what I'm trying to do! I just wanted to be healthy and a lose a tiny bit of weight dammit! Why can't I find any balance?!

I didn't really have breakfast, just a little less than half a cup of mandarin oranges. I snacked throughout the day not depriving myself- three white chocolate covered pretzels, three chips, a bite of bread.
Lunch was steamed broccoli with two tablespoons duck sauce and three hard boiled eggs. We ordered in so I got to make myself veggies and protein =)
Then later when we got home I had some pretzels and mustard dip.

WHY AM I SO FUCKING HUNGRY. Am I a fatass? Did my calories not reach what they should have? I am trying so hard here and it's frustrating. WHY CAN'T I HAVE A NORMAL NICE BODY. Not fat like I am. Not skinny like I was.
Normal.

your not eating anywhre near enough thatys why you feel hungry hun. i know its hard to accept you need to eat alot when you feel to want to/need to lose weight but you need to eat more, and then eventualy when your eating enough you can exercise to burn off extra weight instead of geting rid if it by starving yourself and making you feel awful and outting your boy in starvation mode. try having more protein foods like lean meats or seafood if you can. theyll full you p more and have lots of healthy properties =)

I\'m doing the healthy eating too, and it\'s hard to find a balance.
Here\'s my meal plan:
Breakfast: wheat toast with avacado and oatmeal/yogurt (poached or scrambled eggs if I\'m hungry enough)
Lunch: some kind of salad with protein in it, nuts or chicken or both. I try to eat something else with it like a half of a sandwich but I don\'t always get that far.
Dinner: two different veggies and a protein, chicken turkey or fish. Beef sometimes, but I try a lean meat 3 out of 4 times.

Protein is the key. I promise that will help you not feel as hungry and also make it easier to build muscle mass when you exercise. Snacking lightly during the day like you\'ve been doing is awesome! That makes your body not freak out and get super hungry, and then you don\'t gourge yourself at the next meal.

It is good that you are journalling every day. Not only can you get good advice (both of the comments so far today are great) but it also helps you release your frustration.

I have to second what Gilli said. If you are waking up in the middle of the night hungry, that is a pretty clear indication that you are not eating enough. Starving yourself isn\'t healthy because it slows your metabolism and makes you irritable. Get ready to start your new life at UMass. Maybe see a nutritionist at the campus wellness center when you get there and have them set up a good plan for you.

How much is a \'tiny bit of weight\'?
Unfortunately, you\'re looking at your life through the eyes of your illness.
Oh, how I wish you could see your beautiful body!!!!
Your body is normal!!!!
It\'s your perception that is not.
Although you\'re probably an expert when it comes to food and diets (many people with an ED are, because of their obsession with food and weight), read up a little bit on the importance of breakfast.
A substantial breakfast -- doesn\'t have to be a LOT, but get some protein in there!! -- kick starts your metabolism. People who eat a \'hearty\' breakfast tend to lose weight faster and easier than those who skip or scrimp on it.
And I\'d have to do the math, but it sounds like maybe you SHOULD have eaten a bit more yesterday. You might be keeping yourself at a point that is purposely slowing down your metabolism. (The dreaded starvation mode!!!)
Accept the fact that when your stomach growls because you are hungry, the healthy thing to do is to eat something.
And if the thought of doing that is anxiety-provoking to you, try your best to eat enough throughout the day so that you don\'t get those night time hunger pangs.
Good luck!!!
Sigh. I know it won\'t do much good to tell you this, but you are SO not fat!!!!
I hope you don\'t stay unhappy with yourself for too long!!! Pick a part of your body that you DO like and focus more on that!!!! (((((Hugs)))))

Practice makes perfect. Keep trying a different plan until you find one that works for you. What keeps me steady is to have my biggest meal at nid morning a snack at around two and a light meal before bedtime is I diner wake up hungry in the middy le of the night. A lot of ppl would say that\'s all wrong but it works for me. I just think you need to find out what works for you.

i think you definitely aren\'t reaching a high enough calorie count.

i\'m not suggesting that you count calories, because i think that\'s more triggering (but you know what\'s best for you). however, i think if you got in a good breakfast it would help A LOT. 3 meals 2 snacks is generally a good plan also. from the nutritionists i\'ve talked to (so again, take everything i say with a healthy dash of salt :) calorie range for a girl trying to lose a small amount of weight healthily should be in the 1600-2000 range. from what you told us, sounded like you were around a thousand...anyway, again you probably shouldn\'t be counting calories. i\'m rambling, but please take care of yourself hun...you don\'t even need to lose weight.
