I had a pretty amazing rock n roll week.  I've been reading Slash's book and really enjoying it.  Our circles have crossed paths more than once in the past.  He played and had some rock n roll VIP's join him.  I had a great time!  I went alone and decided according to the AA book, that as long as I am spiritually fit, I can go anywhere, as long as my motives are good - that is, not to live vicariously through others who are drinking.  The book suggests to try to add to others enjoyment.  I met someone in line and tried to be friendly.  I saw him later and went up to ask who he was here to see, instead he offered me a wristand for a "bump up" so I could have a seat instead of stand, with a better view of the stage, and I got to sit and talk with him about music which was cool.  I had a great time dancing and the music was great.  I'm so glad I went. The next night was the I, Doll book signing.  The author is passed away but his wife got it published.  It was neat to meet her and we had a mutual friend, and it was neat to meet the lady from a record label who sent out the invitation - I am guessing because I am a volunteer for college radio that she located me that way.  I even saw someone I met from extra work and we talked a long time about music when we met.  I decided to skip the after party.  That was a hard decision.  A sense of loss in choosing to go home early.
