I went on a campout over the weekend as part of the MA group which included campfire meetings each night, a womens (and mens) meeting in the morning, and a potluck. I spent a lot of time on the beach reading a good book on Jim Morrison (No one here gets out alive) which I am really enjoying. I took long walks on the beach and got in the ocean and swam a little, and it was just wonderful. I am glad I went. It was really good to be there. I got to connect with some people and stay in touch for people to come speak at the MA meeting where I am secretary. I got there and got my tent up and went down to the beach with my book and checked messages to discover the company cannot continue to pay me for now so I am not expected back, but may be asked to come back in a couple weeks (?) - I didn't do anything wrong they just don't have the money, understandably. It still came as a blow, and I take the "two weeks" promise with a grain of sand (I mean salt!) since much said by the owners is not followed through on I find. Anyway I tried to contact my coworker who doesn't seem to be responding, as much as we seem to like eachother get along he just isn't reaching out back so that is a little disappointing. I went to Al Anon and cried a little, having gone through the same old "song and dance" with mom being critical and controlling and it coming at a time where I am already "down" - out a job. I try to stick with the serenity prayer and focusing on what I can do - I went to meeting, and decided to reach out to my niece to have her help me make some soup she likes - it didn't turn out the greatest this time, but the visiting was nice. I opened up some dialog about some living amends I owe her and her family which was a pretty big deal for me, and got tearful. Poor thing she is living w/ her mom's choice of a man addict and he is mean to them and I try to tell her what I know about abuse and just think she is healthy to want little to do with him. Anyway it is too big for me to handle I must give it to God. I come to library to check email. I'm a little sad a friend I was emailing is not reaching back out, anyway I need to keep on trying to reach out to people, tending to isolation. I look forward to watching final episodes of this season's "Bachelorette" having gotten stuck on it with mom! I have a room to clean and resumes to fax and calls to make regarding background work, and stuff to turn over to God.
