I felt good today. I was up late with new sponsee, and up early, and walked dog and went to gym and swam and used jacuzzi. I got a little personal with disclosing with her last night, not suggested, and I guess we'll see how the friendship and sponsee relationship goes. Since she attends meeting where my ex does where I no longer attend, I had told her I don't go because of my ex, and last night told her who he is. Anyway we had a long talk and it felt good to have someone "safe" give me details, and it didn't bother me so much, stuff that would have been so much more painful just months ago. His new grotesque facial tattoos, his exploitation of woment in meetings, his negative behavior - and it is hard to accept this person was once filled with light and love for a time. He is quite dark. He's not just some quiet guy in a corner, he is very prominant in a very gossipy environment. (Glad I'm not there, but easy to get caught up in it.) Anyway it was interesting. She wondered what kind of power he has over women, how he preys on vulnerable people. Anyway since she is friends with his more recent ex, who is now otherwise involved and fearing him moving back and that she'll have to leave meetings, it was eye opening for all around. We have a lot in common and it was cool to chat. I even got another sponsee today, who is required by her recovery home to have a sponsor, so there is less investment on her part as it is a "has to" not a "want to". I was concerned about telling one of my favorite classes I'm leaving work, and the response wasn't what I "expected". Anyway it is sad. I am overjoyed by who has been selected to replace me. We worked together here when I was new and I even trained him, when there was so much less involved. I am excited to see how he does and I know he has challenges of his own so that will be so interesting! I am sad about leaving, and it has been quite slow and manageable so go figure! I think for me I have those emotional breakdown points were I do things I come to find are a bit insane, like quitting work. Mom told Dad. I've been stalling, as he's never shared before this that he is proud of me. I hope to find understanding for myself for having chosen this. I am excited about the prospect of doing background acting again after nearly 2 years off, a career off and on since '93. I'm not sure if temp work will come up before that, or another offer here as that is a pretty sure possibility. R is at wits end as some bottles were found outside their home in a bad neighborhood, in his sober living, and they were all kicked out and he doesn't know where to go and how to get to his addiction treatment program. I offered to pick him up and take him to a friend in this area. I am trying to help him sort it out and have to remember my solutions are not his (or God's).
