On Friday Mr I don't know, he'd been making me a ceramic cup, as he is an artist. He told me he finished it and he wanted to give it to me, and I said "OK". He said he thinks I'm "Awesome" and "totally" wants to be my friend. The painted cup made me cry. It is beautiful and has sentimental items on it that let me know we bonded. Anyway I hugged him and cried and left. I just told him it's kinda hard for me to be friends with someone I like and that it's hard to be friends with someone who wanted more, and I'm sorry. Anyway it was a good cry. I'm just way too off on my own and this gesture truly touched me as a token of caring and appreciation. Watched "Because I said so" with mom, and mom and daughter flick, and that was really cool. A lot of our bonding is done over watching programs together and it is truly a blessing. So I went to this AA convention. The guy I was supposed to type a paperfor called to say he'd be there instead today, and I thought I'd go to a oldtimer meeting and to one of the marathon meetings. I missed an Al Anon "intimacy" meeting I really wish I'd gone to, but I went to a meeting with him instead. OK I like him. Yeah he is like one of those people that may not have a very strong filter as he says some slightly I don't know just open things. I don't know what to call him. So I am realizing, ok I can't really control who I like, and I like him, and I'm getting these giddy feelings. So anyway we're supposed to meet for some food before the noon meeting Tuesday, and I don't know what is going on. I do feel happy about it. I guess this is what you get from a single relationship addict who may be on the rebound. It sure makes the bothersome feeling towards the ex really not be in the foreground. I told the last guy I can't date and a week later I am thinking about someone else. This probably isn't normal or healthy, anyway it feels ok to me! I probably would be more closed if I spent more time with women friends. (should I say SOME time - if it wasn't for womens meeting, I wouldn't have any time with women friends, aside from coming here). The guy I haven't been on a walk with in over a month, he called to ask if I wanted a walk. I didn't return his call. I don't know if I will. It sort of took me by surprize. I'm not really ready to develop a friendship with him since our situation was rather blurry - were we friends or dating? We kissed at times and then stopped. Anyway I feel some relief at having "NO thank you" in my vocabulary. I went to two other meetings besided at the convention. I do love a day with a whole bunch of meetings. I need it. 4 months broken up and on date with 3rd guy next week, if it is a date. Oh God! I guess I am living. Ex called a couple times at my volunteer work - I can't screen calls here, so I immediately hung up. Rattling, upsetting, INSANE. Mom and I are meeting my cousin for lunch tomorrow. I look forward to our outing.

Is he ever going to stop calling?! Some people are PERSISTENT. You\'d think he\'d get the point after the first fifteen calls you ignored. :P
I understand the relationship addiction being that way myself. At the same time, I know it\'s also only human to crave someone with whom you can bond. I\'d go with your gut feeling on this.
The last guy, you felt a bit uneasy with, but knew you didn\'t want intimacy with him. So, if this guy \'feels right,\' then go slow and see what happens--OR you can tell him you\'re on a dating break right now, and if he wants to hang out and be friends then great. That way maybe you can get to know each other without all the pretense.
I wish they had all the AA stuff here. I live in a such a rural area, there is nothing!! Of course, I don\'t need AA, I need NA. But if we had one then we\'d likely have the other. That kind of motivation and support must be really awesome. :) HUGGGG
That cup sounds nice-what a sweet thing for him to do! How nice that you and your Mom can do some bonding together while watching movies. I have never heard of that movie. I could stand to do some bonding with my Mom-but sometimes it is hard to do!I guess we do bond some when we volunteer togethereach month. So sorry you are still getting calls from your ex-good for you for hanging up on him!:0)
