I got up way too early.  I wonder if it's because today is finals and maybe my last day of work?  The supervisor dropped off my students surveys and comments yesterday - I was a little dissappointed at some of the comments, but have to see the reality of them - they could be right.  I am still a new teacher and have a long way to go to be better.  Anyway they weren't all bad I guess just hearing anything negative can be hard. I am frustrated one student is on the verge of failing, he was my independent study student last time, and I'm "invested" in his passing, I guess I am emotionally involved.  Truth is he's missed more than half the class, but is pretty bright, and made up for most of the missed work.  We'll see how it goes today!  I got to teach a psychology class - that is really truly a miracle! I walked doggie and the sunrise was so pretty - I love sunrises. So my new goal is to get my room a bit on the rearranged side, as far as the book suggests "It's called a breakup because it's broken", just to make things new and different.  I boxed up all the stuff associated with "him" as it suggested - more stuff than I realized.  And I asked someone to be my "breakup buddy" the person I call when I want to call him or vent about him, so as not to wear out some of my other friendships with "and then he and then I..." something I think I've already done.  But I'm going through old journals from last year, as far as a thing I do for myself... I write down what I like about myself at the end of everyday (and a gratitude list of 5 things). Every day I go back last year to find what I wrote in my diaries as kind of an "affirmation" of the day, so I am reading through all that C R A P I put up with with him- yuck - lots of anger and stuff, and abuse.  Sigh.  It's over - I just still dwell on it at times, or still have the feelings to deal with because of settling for it and stuffing the feelings to cope with it at the time - unhealthy. My 20th high school reunion is Saturday.  If I go, I have to go to volunteer work first and set up for my not  being there that night, which is really no biggie but may be difficult.  I feel like I must go because I don't want to miss it.  I'll be lucky if I remember anyone.  I have 3 friends I'd love to see that I can think of, and likely maybe one will be there.  The other 2 are out of state as far as I know?  To me, the $100 would be worth it just to reconnect with the one old friend.  I need the courage to go - it won't come again!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm thinking of going to update my photo for background acting tomorrow - I haven't done it in over a year but have many years of experience - it is fun.  I need to have some work coming in.  Problem is my cooling fan in my car was recently purchased and already appears to have stopped working, so I have some overheating issues.  Sigh.  That kind of work involves driving pretty far, versus being local which I've been fortunate to do for the last year. Oh my supervisor said there may be some psychology independent study students in need coming up next week.  I guess I am in a position to say Y E S to work.  I need an attitude of gratitude.

go to your reunion! My 20th just came and went and my lame class planned nothing! I was really disapointed, not really because I had specific people I wanted to see, just because after 20 years, I think there becomes a reality check, about the things that are really important in life. It\'s a personal milestone to look at yourself and see just how far you have come (and you have a lot to be proud of!!)

I think you are making so much progress in the break up department and I have so much respect for the fact that you are looking at things straight on (without filters or rose tinted glass) taking responsiblity and taking action. you are AWESOME!

much love,

I hope you have fun at the reunion! that sounds like a lot of fun. good for you on reading the old journals and reminding yourself that you are on the right path. It\'s hard, isn\'t it? you\'re doing the right things. Keep it up. sounds fun to do the extra work. HUGS, Chels

I like the fact that you do affirmations and keep a gratitude list. This helps me too. I also like that fact that you have a breakup buddy. In the past I served as a contact lens buddy...many years ago when getting lenses were a BIG thing. Stay well.

Hun, be grateful for the job you\'re getting, it is a blessing. I find it hard too when someone has a negative comment to say about my work, but I\'m trying not to be so sensitive and just learn from it. I hope you went to the reunion and you reconnect with your old friend -- all the feelings that could come up after all those years have passed. I also have a buddy that I call when I\'m feeling insecure and afraid to take risks - it is like your breakup buddy but on a different subject (lol). I\'m wondering what is \"background acting\"? I wish you many sunrises in your path!
