I got up real early for me and it was so nice. I wish I did it more. I am enjoying the peace around the house with being alone here - I lived alone for years and it's nice to do it in sobriety. I appreciate having computer access and time to use it. I'm feeling so much better it's scary. Last week was so dark. I think the addictive computer stuff last week set off some real downer mood. It had been a long time since I'd gotten into that. I know I have some stuff to share about in counseling that is coming up as a result of talking about it at counselors today. I had a good day. I had a good cry at the counselors and vented A LOT. I need to keep in mind my self care and pick up on meditation and the gym and yoga and exercise, and sleep and eating well. I am loving my fast - just fruit and juice and veggies - I feel so much clearer. I usually do up to 3 days and we'll see, maybe I'll do more. A dear friend did weeks long fresh juice fasts and it is truly healing as she think it cured her cancer scare (I truly believe in it). Anyway so what is up is I got to teach this ethics class and it was fun, and I connected with a new male friend as we are part of a same circle, and it was kind of neat... ok he works at a bar, and thinking of it, it was the last bar I ever drank at about a month before my sobriety date... anyway how neato is that, to imagine being a piece of this circle SOBER (one day at a time). I'm a marijuana addict and anything including alcohol is not good for me because I also have alcoholism in that I just can't stop when I want and I get the obsessions and cravings and move on to other drugs and other destructive behavior. The students did well on their final, and my indepdent student got a B in Ethics and a C in Economics. It was fun. I feel good I hung in there to teach and I am liking it and psyched to teach psychology starting Tuesday (WOW). I felt emotional thinking of my counselor, how she knew me way back when in '02 when I was stripping and using pot addictively and living with an abuser, unknowingly, and just stuck stuck stuck... and to be able to come back to her twice since then and the mutual growth we've had, it just struck me - from stripper to a psychology teacher, finally using my degree all these years after I received it, because of my sobriety. Wow. Truly touching. How neat for her to see my true transformation. I mean I do feel like people say in sobriety that life can be beyond your wildest dreams. I believe it's true. I am so grateful for my 12 step program and WORKING it. I wrote a very dear interview a year ago about an AA friend (see in Alcoholism group "Oldtimer 58th year sobriety birthday and interview" (he's got 59 years sober now - and is 93! And still goes to AA - DAILY!) ) I am so endeared to this man. He even sat next to me at the memorial service of a mutual friend a couple weeks ago, and it so warmed my heart. I've been so isolated since the breakup, aside from Mr New and my meetings (thank God for those). So it happens we know a man who is the area representative of the AA Grapevine magazine, and he wanted me to resubmit the interview I did specifically for Grapevine, to the new editor. He'd heard about it and took an interest in it. The editors are real excited to hear about a "50 year wonder" that hasn't come around in a long time. Their orignal reply to me was that it was in the "active" file - anyway I guess he knew the right person to get past the red tape or whatever, so maybe they'll publish it! (they said they'd never heard of it) Finally. I want to share his story and inspire others. The representative we know wants 93 year old Dick to see his story published - he doesn't realize Dick doesn't care about that, he told me, but boy oh boy does he inspire people, daily. He agreed to the interview. Are you having trouble staying sober? Ask an oldtimer to help you. :)

I also love the times in the morning (alone). Tho i dont rise early near as often as i should. the funny thing is that, b4 i quit drinking, i absolutely HATED being ALONE. i couldnt stand it. It mad me so sad, i can still remember the feeling. I just thot i needed a MAN!! (HA..) I didnt kno then that i simple couldnt stand \"being with myself alone!\" but its very clear now. and i dont have that problem today. i can totally handle \"being alone with myself\" i kno that sounds strange, but i have an idea that u kno what i mean.
I wish a wonderful Sunday and the rest of the week to come! God bless~~~
