My "rude" student from the other night apologized, and so did I.  She was one of two who failed the class, and they were warned.  I am very pleased with the class.  The final was last night.  I got a natural high from the whole process - teaching a class math and seeing their progress. WOW.  Who knew? I got a text from her (wow - cell phones and students text messaging me - so different from when I went to school).  I had to tell her she failed and she said it wasn't my fault.  I told her she had learned a lot but not enough, and gave her some feedback for next time.  It has been a neat experience.  Now I need to get prepared for the next 5 week class, starting Monday.  It's for one student on Independent Study and we'll meet once or twice a week, and the 2 classes are Economics and Ethics (time to do some more studying :)  Feeling more confident and relaxed as of now.  The other night after crying I got into gratitude and wrote all the students a personal comment on their strengths and a general thanks for the class.  One student, the other one who failed, said it was the nicest thing a teacher had said to him since elementary school, and he was going to put it up by his trophies.  Anyway, I do think he appreciated it.  I didn't know I would like the experience so much and they really were an exceptional class - I feel blessed.  I did have another math teacher magically appear to help me grade the finals and submit the final grades.  Maybe he's checking to make sure I'm not pulling something funny.  I was relieved to find out I could round up to those students who were on the border of one grade to another when they'd earned it, so I am glad he gave me that feedback, but I missed some of the excitement of calculating the final points myself as he rushed me through it.  I mean the other math teachers didn't even grade homework, I found out, and didn't get as personally involved with the students process, so didn't understand.  Anyway today is a day of celebration to know I did a job well done (and onto the next class...)Just went to gym and did jacuzzi and swam. AH. Well I went to AA and he was there - Mr New.  Anyway thank God I've been reading "He's just not that into you" to learn to let him lead the way.  Don't ask him out first or let him leave you hanging by the phone.  He'd mentioned getting together on Saturday when we talked Monday, and I said "maybe" and he said he'd call the end of the week.  So I am letting him stick to his word and didn't "remind" him or take the lead.  Anyway after the meeting he came and sat next to me and we had a nice conversation a half hour.  I really do like him, he is very smart and kind and decent and funny.  We have some things in common and others not, that is ok.  And the attraction grew, which is exciting!  He is so nice and seems like a good person and has it together.  So I said I'll see him later or maybe hear from him later and he said yeah, major progress for me being a "love addict" type - to "let go" a little. :)
