Today was Mom's bday.  It was cute at the Mexican restaurant I'd told the server it was her bday in hopes of getting good service.  The waiters came up singing and put Flan in front of us (like a custard dessert) and put a sombrero on her.  It was cute.  It is her first bday w/out her sis who died of cancer 1 month ago.  It felt good to be there for Mom.  Sis is admitting a splitting up of her marriage is approaching, and I have only heard this through Mom.  This is hard to feel neglected, familiar pattern I have w/ my sis.  I love her.  Remembering I don't have to take her personally. I texted her that I care and am here and would like to  be involved if she wants to talk and she said she will, and hasn't.  It hurts to think of our small family becoming smaller. Car is running hot so this week I am spending days in working on schoolwork / homework and working evenings instead of being out driving in the 100 degree heat.  I went to the gym today finally ... ahh. Old car is hard to find parts for, rare 924 Porsche so I need a cooling fan and need to do something about it (rather neglectful w/ car maintenance).   Math class instructor position is fun, challening, neat.  I hope they pass.  We're on 2nd of 5 weeks of class (accelerated community college).  Now I've taught ages 0-highschool and I can include college age (they're all first year).  I get to tutor tomorrow for first time :)  Kids are a little rowdy w/ me, I am a softy and they're brand new in college.  It is surpizing how much I do enjoy it in many ways.  I try to remember to pray for God's will to use me before class, and that helps with my attitude and to let go of perfectionism. I haven't been to a meeting in several days - NEED to go.  Missed the party Saturday, was so happy just to go home and rest.  Sometimes reading recovery literature is the next best thing.
