Well it felt good to tell my sponsor the truth about me and my ex in contact again.  She is the one who referred me to Al Anon because of my complaining about him, what a "rocky road" it has been.My counselor cancelled again so I didn't have to tell her.  It feels good to be willing.Mom even said as long as I'm happy, about being in contact with him.  We are seeing eachother again.  It is not perfect anyway there hasn't been any verbal abuse I am aware of.Anyway my sis told me the job I applied for 1 year ago where she works has another position in mind for me so I may start something part time in the evenings, I was in a panic about it because I thought the schedule might interfere with my present temp job and I was waiting to hear from the boss lady.  My sponsor helped me see I was panicking and to take some deep breaths.  It feels neat to be offered a job that pays more money per hour than I've ever made.  In the meantime my part time job of 3 years (yes I do alot of different jobs!) called to say it has gotten increasingly slow and I am now only On Call, not scheduled.  I understand.  They sold the company to two new companies and we have been waiting for this day because the majority of the typing went to the other company (I'm a typist there). I made one good friend there I will miss but I am glad to be in touch, actually the people there I really liked and wish I'd said a more proper goodbye when I had the chance. It feels good to be here.  I am glad I am able to learn and grow here.  I sure need the support and feels good to get out of self and give support.I went to a big book AA meeting and I am so glad I shared.  It felt good.  I was able to refer a newcomer who needed help to quit smoking pot to MA, I had some literature in my purse.  IT felt really good to be able to see her face when I told her there is a Marijuana Anonymous!

Supporting others is truly a blessing for me too. I used to bemoan the fact that the person I really wanted to help, usually refused any AA or NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) help. It has been so frustrating to know, short of having my son committed, there is really nothing I can do for him other than prayer and taking care of myself. The very good news is I have a network of Al Anon moms who love and support and understand my situation.
