Why??????
Why do I always have to focus on the doom and gloom of my life. My daughters wedding was wonderful , she looked beautiful, and she was very happy and the sun kindof came out after days of rain and all I could focus on was my pain in the a** ex being there and ruining my day. Sometimes I want to just smack myself. I've always been one to dwell on the bad stuff. Since Bruces death I am trying to change that and think more positive and not sweat the small stuff. He just gets my goat.

Lori, you\'re just gonna have to accept that as much as what we\'ve been through and it motivating us to want to change all of the negatives about ourselves that this does not eliminate certain people in our lives that we would prefer not to have to deal with. I read your journal and what you said about the day of the wedding and how the \"ex\" acted. Yes, he sounds very much like a jerk but he\'s the jerk and he\'s not really something you have to deal with on a day to day or week to week or even month to month basis. He\'s just a very bad memory that happens to be your daughter\'s dad. She may have to tolerate him but not you. I know with the baby due and all he will probably cross your path more than you would like him to but in cases like this when you can\'t avoid these negatives you\'re just gonna have to FOCUS on the positive - that precious new little life who you are going to spoil rotten! If that\'s not enough to quench those negative vibes then I don\'t know what is. You can do this! I know you can! Hugs, Judi
Girl friend..You are normal!!!
I just listened to a broadcast by Beth Moore discussing why our minds seem to capture the negative and just stall out our lives.....it is Satan winning a victory and therefore we have to just say..\'hey buddy, Christ has the victory in my life, not you!\' After all Satan wants us to be angry and bitter, but Jesus wants us to be joyful and full of peace. Hugs...Claudia
There are just some people that really push our buttons - all without really trying....
I agree, there are SOME people that just push us to our worst... It\'s o.k. there are MORE people who push us to our BEST... Hugs,
Fighting that negative reaction to life is a tough one. Sometimes we just succumb to negative thoughts and, as Annsullivan said, some people manage to push our buttons.
Now you can sit back and remember a lovely wedding in the sunshine and dream of the new your daughter\'s has before her.
Hugs

Good grief; that last sentence should read:
and dream of the new life your daughter has set out before her.

Don\'t be too hard on yourself, I\'m sure most of us would have felt just the same. It sounds like your daughter had a wonderful day to set her off on her married life. Work through it and I\'m sure you\'ll come out the other end. Good luck and take care.
Lori, Get a grip! Any woman would feel that way. Your a.....e ex is here and your true love, Bruce is gone. You name me one woman who would not feel resentful??? I sure as H would. I am very resentful of these so called \"moms\" slapping and screaming at their kids in the walmart. We are not just hurting women, we are human too. You are doing just fine. I am with you,Peggy
