Last night I was on the phone with Bruce's sister for 4hrs. 4 gruelling hrs. Bruce's Mom is 67 and is very forgetful and it has been going on for about 5 yrs now. She called me 3 times and left the same message on my phone in a 45 min. period. She makes plans for lunch then forgets and isnt there when you arrive, anyway it has been getting worse since Bruce passed then 6 mths later she lost her Mother. I am very worried about her and told her I think she should see her dr. She said she was afraid to find out what is wrong with her. Well her daughter is just pissed at her and said she is using the loss of Bruce as a crutch. I was so mad. She said her mom shouldnt be telling me this stuff she should be telling her own daughters. She said when she talks to her mom she tells her everything is fine and she's getting over the loss of Bruce. I told her thats normal because when your grieving thats what your trying to do is get over the pain. She was getting me so mad. Instead of having concern for her mom,all she could think about was herself and how her mom is asking me for help and coming to me for advice instead of her. She said she will do anything for her mom but I havent seen proof of that since I've known her. I told her that her mother shouldnt have to ask her for help, she see's that she's suffering she should be asking her mother what she can do for her. I worry about my mother in law because if she's like this now whats in going to be like if she lives another 30 yrs. Her kids already cant tolerate her forgetfulness and they live an hour away hows it going to be if she need to move in with one of them.I think they will put her in a home. And one of his sisters is a nurse, she should be more compationate.

Again, we get back to No one truly understands unless you have been there. They should be HAPPY that she has you to confide in. They just do not like the fact that you really see them for what they are. I am really surprized at the daughter whom is a nurse, you think she would at least know a bit more. Her mom could also be suffering from depression along with her grief. I wish you all the best, All you can do is just try and be there for her... Sad...

Some people just don\'t get it...that the whole world doesn\'t revolve around them...your mother-in-law needs to get to the doctor...if it is more than just grief & depression there are wonderful meds for slowing down the progression of Alzheimer, hopefully it is just grief & depression & there are meds to help her with that too. Get her to the docs ASAP he should know what is going on anyway so he can keep on top of things. I know when it is your own parent - they might not want see/believe what she is going through. Good Luck with everything...Hugs, Ann

I feel bad for his Mom. Is it just old age or maybe she is getting Alzheimers. It kind of sounds like it. My Mom will forget she has told me something and tell me again and I don\'t say anything, but it is usually awhile after the first time. She does need to see a doctor. I know everyone is afraid to find out what is wrong with them, but if you wait too long, sometimes they can\'t help you. I know they do have new drugs for people with beginning Alzheimers. Her daughter sounds like she is jealous and envious that her mom talks to you instead of her. Maybe she should be more compassionate. Big hugs to you, Carolyn

What a DORK some people can be. I am only 55 and after loosing my 2 boys, I am forgetful, and I do things twice, or forgret to do them at all. Where is the compassion and inderstanding? This Lady is not young and she has been through an awful ordeal. My son that was 38. it seemed he might as well have been a baby. Same way with the one that was 29! they are aways your babies, Your sister in law would do well to remember this. You never know what lays ahead on the path of life for you. You are a kind and compassionate person, That shines through very brightly. Lori. You are special and you are kind and good. Some prople do not learn to be this way till they suffer thrie own awful tradgedy. This woman lost her brother? I would think she would be a little more kind. but maybe she is suffering in her own way in her own mind. We just never know what is going on inside that other persons head. Love Peg
