Today I have the day off,not doing too much of anything.Just some laundry and other chores around the house.Right now I'm on my computer and Alex(my border)is sitting in the chair across from me on his computer. It's nice having him here. He's good company. My son the wanderer called me today,I've been a wreck wondering where he is.He told me he was leaving his house in Boston and bumming around for a while until he found a place to live.I offered to let him come stay with me,but he said no way.He wants no rules and he doesnt like my worrying. He figures what I dont know wont hurt me.Well I got him a cell phone for christmas so he can keep me posted on what he's doing, and ofcourse I have been trying to get hold of him and he was out of minutes. So he bought more minutes and called me today and he is in New Orleans helping build houses.I am so glad he's somewhere warm. And he got accepted in a group to help rebuild New Orleans. They provide him with food and shelter, thats more than he's had for a while. He seems pretty happy with his new situation. And although I'm nervous he's staying in unfamiliar suroundings I'm glad he's doing something constructive. He likes to help people,he has a good heart that way.He just lives a wayward life.He likes to bum around and travel. But he doesnt do it the way I would by train or plane.I just worry because this world can be a dangerous place.People tell me he will grow out of this but he's almost 26 yrs old and he's been like this since he was about 16.I love him but I dont love is wondering ways.

At least he is wandering in a \"good way\". Helping others like that is so nice. Sometimes we just have to sit back and hope that they make the right choices. They have to learn on their own. Its so hard I know because of the way it is out there. There are so many crazy people, but I am sure he had a good head on his shoulders and thats what counts the most. I guess we have to remember unconditional love. Thats the best give we can give our children. Hope you enjoyed your relaxing day. Alice

He sounds like a good young man despite the wandering. He is really doing good for the people of New Orleans. It is a wonderful place. I hope to go back someday. Hopefully he will get the wandering out of his system some day and settle down. I know how you worry about him. My oldest is 29 on Sunday and I still worry about her and all my kids. I don\'t care how old they are, they are still your babies and you worry. Hugs to you, Love Carolyn
