A small dose in my mind is under 15 mg on alternate days. A large dose is over 40 (my highest was 60 daily). The goal is the \"smallest effective dose\" that really means keeping MG symptoms under control taking as little prednisone as you can. My neuro hoped that I would be able to get down to 10-15 mg on alternate days--a dose she thought I might be able to live with long term.
As I tapered down from 60, I managed to get off it totally as I had gone into an MG remission (have been that way since April 2013 without MG meds).
