had a huge fight with him yesterday morning. I had sent him an email Thursday night regarding a birthday party Olivia had for Friday evening. I wanted to know if he could pick up a gift bag & take her to the party after he picked her up at daycare. He usually checks his email later in the evening but I heard nothing back. So at 7 am next morning, I texted him.....still nothing. So I finally decided that after I dropped Olivia off at the bus stop, I would stop off at our old house which is where he's staying until the end of the month when the new owners take possession. I rang the bell twice, then knocked loudly several times...nothing but his car was in the driveway. Of course, now I'm thinking he spent the night with someone. I get back in my car & try calling him on his cell. Again nothing. By the time I got to work, I was furious & he calls just as I get there. I immediately asked him who he spent the night with. He tells me that what he does now is none of my business. After arguing for a minute, he says that he walked to work because everyone in his office is going to the partners cottage & drinking in the afternoon. BULLSHIT!!! How stupid does he think I am!? So after hanging up on him, he texts me, again informing me that he was none of my business. I lost it! I texted back telling him that he was the biggest F***ing liar ever & that he had absolutely no chance of ever getting me back now cause I hate him & he is now dead to me! We fought via text for awhile then it switched over to emails. I told him he had set the precedent. He's screwing around, the gloves are off & I can do the same. So he emailed back saying that he'd go with one of his "prospects" & then rubbed in my face that there were "many"! I emailed back & told him not to drink first so he wouldn't sisappoint them or embarass himself.....LOL, I was proud of that one! He emailed back ...."look at us Pam, is this what it has come to? Is this what you want?" I said "no", it's not what I want but what it has come to....it is what it is. Then he calls me on my cell at work....again asking if this is what I want. I told him no but he has pushed me to this point & reminded him that to me he is dead. I hung up. He sent one last email saying that he will no longer defend himself to me & that it is because of my reaction today that he doesn't want to be with me nor ever will want to again. Now it's next day & my anger has disappated somewhat. I start to feel like I have pushed him away for good & then I get a pang of panic. But dammit!!! He has pushed me to this because he wont answer anything honestly & he plays at being vague. I dont believe his story yesterday! There are too many things that dont make sense....Why didn't he reply to my text? Why didn't he answer my call? Why didn't he get a ride in with his business partner? He never walks....nothing adds up. I know he's lying. He's wrong....I didn't do this to us. He has & I hate him for it! I know I wont sleep with anyone tonight when I go out but he'll be wondering tonight! I find he is playing head games & I know I can out play him there. I am trying very hard to take the high road & not play into that but he's making it hard!!

You feel this way because he is lying and manipulating you. Don\'t take the bait. Let him know that you know he\'s lying and that you don\'t want his irresponsible behavior affect your children. But he is acting in a way that means you no longer can trust him or interact with him. If you can say this in a level-headed manner, I think you will be letting him know that he brought this situation about and that you aren\'t willing to get into the mindgames. Then, come here and vent.
I should add that what I think is particularly manipulative about his behavior (and why I think you should take a stance something like what I wrote above) is that he is trying to avoid responsibility for his actions and put it on you--you have made reconciliation impossible, you are the reason he is acting this way, your marriage is ending, etc. It\'s probably like talking to a brick wall dealing with him, but if you feel you must (I did), I think calmly letting him know that he is a bigboy who made these decisions and that they have consequences is the way to go. You can\'t reconcile anyway if he can\'t accept responsibility (so rather than driving your relationship further apart, you are actually setting the only terms by which it, or a friendship, could ever come about that would be healthy for you).
