Update
Well, it's been about 6 weeks since I've posted on here, and i must admit I haven't been on here much either, just been so busy. Things are on a rollercoaster at present, as fast as we sort one thing, something else rears it's ugly head. UP - Well Jane's abscences have been sorted, it was one of the anti-convulsants that she was put on as a migraine preventer that actually was triggering the abscences!!!!! we believe it was the aspartame contained it the drug that was the problem. Aspartame can trigger abscences and grand mal seizures (weird therefore why it's put in a anti-convulsant drug), apparently though you have to drink the equivalent of 19 cans of diet drink with aspartame at maximum legal dose for their to be any problems. However when a lot of foods and drinks (not necessarily diet food or drink) have it in it, and then your given a drug with it in it, i would expect you could reach that 19 cans quite easily. So she is now off the Topirimate, on an aspartame free diet and low and behold been 3 weeks without any, got to manage it until Monday and then she can go back to driving and back to work. DOWN - work are being bastards at present, in our unit we have no children in from 23-28th December, however because the other unit does have children in, we have to go in. On some shifts there will be 5 staff in and only 2 students - ridiculous. We got given a rota and told it was approved, only to find out after plans were made around it, that it's not approved and a new one is being done !!! wish they would get their fucking act togehter. There is a lot of bitching adn back stabbing going on as well, and I've just had enough of it. UP - we now have the money in place to try for a baby - we have set February 2009 as the month that we will start trying. DOWN - the anti-depressants i'm on aren't safe in pregnancy, so between now and then got to come off them. There are no anti-depressants that are 100% safe in pregnancy, therefore I won't be going on any other anti-depressant. So got to manage without anything (YIKES!) UP - with any luck, this time next year we will have a baby (or two!).

Good luck on the baby, but keep special attention to being off the meds. Make sure you start them the minute you can after the baby is born. A friend of mine just went through that. The thing is she didn\'t think she needed to go back on meds. She\'s been in the hospital for a while now, not even with her baby.
Yeah I plan to go back on them as soon as I\'ve had the baby, as I have come of anti-d\'s in the past and know I can\'t cope without them. We are planning on bottle feeding the baby, so that I can go straight back on them, as the anti-d\'s can be passed through the milk. I accepted a long time ago that my type of depression means that I will be on anti-d\'s for the rest of my life.
Seeing doctor today about down dosing - bet you anything they will try and persuade me to stay on them as it does say that they can be used in pregnancy where the benefits to the mother outweight the dangers to the baby - but i ain\'t taking any risks.
