Today I have spent most of my time on the computer.  Do not have a car since it is in the shop so i thought I would nuture myself and draw.  But, I seem compelled to come to DS.  I posted 2 more poems and feel that my poems are my way of expressing this long held pain I carried.  It is very cathartic to write poems.  I feel cleansed after writing them.  If I am struggling with a feeling, such as anger, or sadness I write and it flows so easily when I write a poem.  Guess that is my way of getting in touch with the little child.I have been feeling a lot of inner peace lately.  Feel I am on the right path, and pretty much do not care how others feel about the path I am taking.  I cannot care about how others perceive me.  I used to, but I do not anymore.  As I have often said, when I get the classic, get over it, or it is part of your past, I usually want to say walk in my shoes.  I have to one male friend.  He does not get it.  And maybe he will never get IT.  I get IT.  I get that the only way to recover is to go thru the hard emotional feelings that have been repressed for 40 years.  I get that I am the only one who can do this.  I am grateful today that I accept the help of others.  I need not go thru this alone.  I was alone as a child, but that is not the case today.  I am surrounded by love, and best of all I finally have a sense that I am okay.  Thought I would never get to that place, but I have.   It truly has been worth the 20 years on this journey to wholeness.    I was fragmented for soooooo long.  Never knew who I was, what I felt or thought.  In order to be loved I wore a mask. People thought I was the life of the party, but on the inside I was dying.  Dying a slow death.  I feel alive having experienced all of me.  I feel intergrated and not so fragmented.  Wow, I believe I am a walking miracle.  I have my faith in a loving God that He would guide me and He has.  For that I am grateful.  I also believe when you are given this gift of healing, it is only right to pass it on.

Glad you\'re reclaiming your power and your voice. It\'s not what other people think of us that matters; it\'s what we think of ourselves. Blessings, Dancer.

Wow my friend. This is an awesome journal entry. As I read it, I can feel it. If that makes sense. You are definitely on the right path and I agree it doesn\'t matter what anyone else thinks of the path you\'re on, it is bringin you healing and that is what matters. God is so awesome and always there when we need Him most. You are right, it is only right to pass on what He teaches us. Hugs sweetie. Thank you so much for sharing this in your journal. Here if ever you need me, jus holler. Luv to you my friend. God bless you.

I believe part of the journey to become ourselves again is to finally stop letting \"them win\". By that I mean the people who caused the pain in our lives. You just have to get past them and become as much of the person we really are. Having that sense that you are okay...it\'s a good one to have. Take care Jenna

Wow!!! I can so identify with your pain. I can also identify with your concept of not understanding. People can so cruel with their remarks sometimes. I am so thankful that I am surrounded by people who are there when I need them. They all say they don\'t understand what I am going through, but they are there to listen if I just need to vent. I am working through a lot of issues right now and am having a pretty rough time facing some things. But I know that once this layer of the onion is peeled away I will be a better person for having faced these issues head on. And what is more, it is one less area of my life that my abuser is controlling. Sometimes I get so angry at myself for letting this man still continue to control parts of my life. He has been dead for a long time now and sometimes I wish that wasn\'t the case. I would to have the opportunity to tell him in person that he will no longer control my life.
Our God is an awesome God and it is great that we have Him to turn to when things get really tough. He will always listen and help us through those times when we struggle. I live daily on the promise that he will never give us more than we can handle. Although sometimes I have to wonder!!
Love your peotry. You are certainly talented. Most of the poems that I read that you write bring tears to my eyes because I am so able to feel what I think you are feeling as you write them. I am sharing your feelings with you.
Take care my friend and have a great day.
