So tired

I am so tired I can barely keep my eyes open. I may send my son to his room with a snack and take a nap. I survived my birthday and the things that I knew would happen, did. It was quiet and relatively uneventful. I spent most of the day with my DH and that was good. When it's just the two of us, we get along great.  It's when we add the kids that the stress level goes up and the enjoyment level goes down. I told him I did not want to take the kids with us to dinner but we ended up taking the kids and of course, it's DH that gets all irritated with the kids and withdraws.  Ugh.  It's my effing birthday and I have to make other people happy? 
But I did not get a new phone or iPod or anything cool like I kind of wanted.  I want a smart phone.  I want to be like that cool kids.  Of course my saying something to DH about him working a million hours a week and that I hardly see him and everything made him feel bad, 'cause he's always acting as though we're on the verge of bankruptcy and financial disaster.  Bullshit.  I know that we are not rich and the reason we have any money in the bank is because we live an... austere lifestyle.  But the moment he decides that HE NEEDS a smart phone, he'll have one. 
I like that he saves money. I have spent my whole life being very frugal.  What did I tell him over the weekend?  Oh, I'm a savvy shopper.  I have to be!  But I never worry about if we have money to pay the bills, so he does a good job. I just want some things fixed up.
But my head hurts and I need a nap. I hope my boy will cooperate.
