Well Christmas is over and now waiting for the new year.. I think it will be a good one.I recieved a small inheritance in April of this year from my ex-huband. (he never changed his will, lol). Anyways so I decided that being the first year that I have ever had extra money I wanted to do something special for others. ( I think I learned this from my mom, she is so much a giver). I have a very good friend in Ogden, UT  named Leslie and I asked her if she thought I could help someone on DS. Instead she told me about a woman in her neighborhood that has some ailments and two children and are really struggling to make it. I think she has MS and her two children also have some problems. Anyway after discussing this with Leslie as she talked with the other neighbors, we decided that she could use the money rather then gifts. I sent her $500. I was talking with Les the other day and this woman happened to be outside and Leslie let me speak with her. She thanked me up and down. Guess she had a loan out from one of those places that give quick loans and had just been paying the interest. She told me now she could pay that off and her boys would have Christmas.. Made me cry, made Leslie cry and all of Leslies wonderful neighbors.. Best thing I have ever done in my life. I am not sharing this so anyone will think I am just super awesome but because this has been the best Chrismas I have ever had. My sons have always had a good life, except for having a mother and father there like they should have as we were both alcoholics and spent sometime drinking in bars and home. Cant take that back but they both have forgiven me and they love me with true hearts.. I am so blessed. I wish everyone could be as blessed as I am. But one last thought on this, money does not buy happiness and it does not take my depression away. It helps a little but for all of you out there that think money would make you happy, when you have true depression, it will help but it definetly doesnt take away depression. On a second note, I felt so good about this that I went to my b/f (I didnt tell him about my donation in Ogden because he would have just thrown a fit, he is a bit like my son and they ofcourse think I am very gullable). Any ways I went to Al and told him I wanted to do sub for santa this year. He said he had always did that before but hadnt the last couple of years and thought it was a good idea. I told him that it is so hard to buy for his two married boys and their families as they are doing well for theirselves and are in need of nothing.  He in turn called Ricky and Weston and told them what are plans were and that instead of exchanging gifts with their families we were going to do Sub for Santa. They were so excited that they didnt have to figure out a present for him that they said they wanted to do the same. So we had some people help us find two families, one of which was a single mother who had just lost her job a little while back and then her trailer burned. We went in and bought gifts for the children and parents ( not overwhelming gifts ). We bought hams and fruit and candy for stocking stuffers and gift wrap and gift certificates at local supermarkets so they could buy what they needed. We bought gift wrap and such so that the parents could see the gifts for the children and wrap them theirselves to be opened on Chrismas morning. We had the people that found the families for us deliver the  bags of items so they could get everything prepared for their Chrismases. The kids loved the idea so much they want to do it again next year. Even Als ex-wife wants to do it next year.. lol.. Its amazing how one simple idea can turn into a landside. Needless to say, I think it made all of our Chrismas the best one we have had. Thats what they said and thats what I know.. Thank you God for all your blessings and for teachings. Thank you mom (even though we are not close like we use to be) for teaching me to be selfless and to be a giving caring person. You are forgiven for the hellish childhood you didnt get us out of and for caring for others.. Thank you for all my friends on DS. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.. I am truly blessed.. Y'Vonne

You truely had the spirit of Christmas this year. The joy is in the giving and Christmas is for the children. What a lovely thing you did so those kids could have something under the tree. \"True charity is something given freely of the heart with no thought of recognition or recompense\". It is one of The Corporal Works of Mercy. God will shower you with good things for the act of true charity.

It was a nice gift your ex left you and now you can apply for his death benefits which will help you too.

GodBless You, We are our brothers keepers! Hugs, Keleee :)
