Well its Tuesday and I havent written for awhile so guess I better.Saturday was a very horrible day for me but I didnt get drunk all weekend.. Yahoo. Al and I were very busy on Saturday, running errands and getting my sons dryer fixed. You know they give you a window of 1 to 5 pm. Guy shows up right at five so that was a complete waste of day but I did a few things at my house that my son lives in to help him out so I guess it wasnt a complete waste. Then I took my son and Al out to dinner and we went home. When we got home there was messages on the answer machine and also on Als phone ( that he had forgotten to take with him) I got the messages first. One of our very best friends for years had died. Let me tell you a short version. Pete and Val Brown, dear friends, have been together for about 13 years. Val worked for a big trucking company here in Utah called Swift Trans. Together they have 7 kids, two for Pete and five for Val. They have many many grandkids and they love them to death.. Anyways a few years ago Val found out she had cancer in her mouth and had to go through many surgerys and treatments to save herself and was suppose to be cancer free. She had gone to a funeral a couple of months ago in Cali and got sick, thought she was having a heart attack and checked into the ER. They found she was full of cancer but did not tell her and sent her home to see her other Drs. When she got home she was real sick and her one leg had swollen twice its size. They put her in the hospital and called for her cancer dr and regular dr. By the time they had got there her leg had split wide open. When the dr. arrived he had to tell her that she had a flesh eating disease and that her cancer was back and the only way to save her was to amputate her leg but that would still only give her a little time.. She opted out. Thank God she didnt have to go through days or months of pain as she died within hours.. Very sad as I loved her but now she is out of pain..To carry on with this story and finish.. Peter has been very sad and lonely and drinking way to much.. He is one awesome man, very strong but he took this real hard.. He is a cowboy from wayback and he and his BF Taylor decide Saturday to take the horses out for a ride which they did almost every weekend. Peter had been complaining to Taylor that he had been having some kind of spells but he couldnt explain it and the drs. had said nothing was wrong with him. As they were riding back to the truck Taylor turned around and had noticed that Pete was off his horse and had his head on the saddle. Taylor asked him if he was ok and he said he was feeling real shitty but if Taylor would come back and get his horse he would walk to the truck. Taylor came back got the horse and proceded to the trailer.. He turned around to check on Pete and he gotten to a corral and was setting in the shade, said he had to sit for a minute. Taylor took the horses and loaded them in the trailer, loaded up the dog and went back to Pete only to find him sprawled out on the ground lookin up at the sky.. Taylor jumped out of the truck and did cpr for about 45 minutes and couldnt bring him back.. One of my best friends died Saturday of what they think was a heart attack..Two very good friends within three months, married, and dead.. What a loss. The only thing that keeps me going is I believe they are together again now.. The poor kids (luckily adults) and all the grandkids, friends and family have lost two great people within months of each other.. What a hard weekend but I stayed sober, not drink free, but sober.. Luckily I was on an upswing or it would have been a binger for me Im afraid..Sorry for the long story, not that anyone really reads these things, but just for you that care or are really interested.. I alway say on Friday "have a peaceful uneventful weekend" mine wasnt but life goes on.. Atleast for most of us... Hugs and luv to everyone... Y'Vonne
